  • STUDENT RESEARCH CONFERENCE FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023: HONORING OUTSTANDING PROJECTS FROM THE YOUNG SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY

    To encourage scientific research activities and exploration of new knowledge among students, on the afternoon of June 2nd, University of Economics - The University of Da Nang organized the Student Research Conference for the academic year 2022-2023. The conference was attended by representatives from the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City: Mr. Duong Hoang Van Ban - Deputy Director of the Department; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen - Head of International Cooperation Office, The University of Da Nang. From University of Economics, there were Associate Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Deputy Principal in charge, Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy – Vice Principal, leaders of faculties, offices, centers, along with lecturers and students participating in scientific research at this year's conference.


    The academic year 2022-2023 witnessed many memorable milestones in scientific research activities, innovation, and entrepreneurship of the university's lecturers and students. The conference reviewed these achievements through video clips featuring vivid images and impressive moments. Also, during the conference, the University of Economics honored outstanding students/student groups and instructors who achieved excellent results in scientific research, entrepreneurship, and innovation in 2022.

    Deputy Principal in charge – Associate Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh expressed pride in the results that the collective efforts of the university's lecturers and students had achieved in the past academic year. The University of Economics expects that through meaningful activities like the student research conference at the faculty/university level, students will be trained in analytical and information processing skills in scientific research, contributing to the overall development of society. At the same time, the university always pays attention to and is ready to support students' scientific research work, thereby helping learners accumulate knowledge and valuable skills for the future.

    In the academic year 2022-2023, the university received 97 research projects from students at the faculty level and nominated 30 outstanding projects to be presented at the University-level Student Research Conference (including 12 projects conducted entirely in English). 

    The organizing committee established 5 Evaluation Sub-committees for research projects in the following areas: Business 1; Business 2 and Law; Business 3; International Business Economics - Law; Business Economics 4. The projects attracted attention, lively debates, criticisms, and frank exchanges between research groups and the Council to clarify the research content of the projects. The professors in the Council also objectively evaluated the projects and provided advice to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the projects.

    At the closing of the conference, the Student Research Conference for the academic year 2022-2023 summarized and awarded 5 projects with Third Prize, 5 projects with Second Prize, and 5 projects with First Prize. Specifically:

    First Prize-winning projects:

    - "Antecedents of online celebrity brand equity on Tiktok and fan’s booking intention: a case study in the hotel industry in Vietnam" by student Do Thi Thu Uyen; Supervisor: MSc. Tran Thi Kim Phuong;

    - "Evaluating hotel quality based on customer sentiment analysis on online platforms" by student group Tran Thi Quynh Chi, Vo Thi Nhu Ngoc, Dang Hoang Yen; Supervisor: MSc. Nguyen Van Chuc;

    - "Impact of climate policies on the issuance of green bonds" by student Nguyen Tai Thuong Canh; Supervisor: Associate Professor Dr. Dang Tung Lam;

    - "Impact of Green Barriers on Vietnamese Agricultural Export to Major Trading Partners: Is it Truly Serious?" by student group Tran Thi Thao Nhi, Vo Thi Thien, Truong Ngoc Dieu An, Bui Le Nhu Hoa; Supervisor: Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy;

    - "A study on the effect of Cultural Intelligence on Entrepreneurial Intention - The mediating role of creativity" by student group Dang Nguyen Hien Mai, Nguyen Dao Tra My; Supervisors: Dr. Huynh Thi My Hanh, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Uyen Phuong.

    - "Study on the factors influencing students' employment ability - Application of CareerEDGE model" by student Dao Thi Bao Vi; Supervisor: Dr. Huynh Thi My Hanh;

    - "Does CSP matter for firm’s stock liquidity in emerging countries?" by student Lam Binh Chi; Supervisor: Dr. Ho Thi Hai Ly;

    - "Impact of economic growth, energy consumption and foreign direct investment on carbon emissions in Vietnam" by student group Pham Nguyen Quynh Phuong, Truong Thi Nhat; Supervisor: MSc. Tran Thi Hoang Yen;

    - "Factors affecting the digital strategy at small and medium enterprises in Danang city" by student group Phung Khanh Linh, Nguyen Thi Viet Bac, Pham Thi Yen Nhi, Tran Thi Huu Tri, Nguyen Ngoc Nhi; Supervisor: MSc. Hoang Ha.

    - "Factors influencing the disclosure of financial information on the internet in the public sector in Vietnam" by student Le Thi Minh Hieu; Supervisor: Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong;

    - "Researching factors determining the investment behavior of young people in Da Nang" by student group Nguyen Van An, Tran Thi Kim Thoa, Huynh Thi Diem, Le Thi Nhung, Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet; Supervisor: Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha.
