Overview of the international conference on management & business COMB 2019

To create a platform for researchers, businesses, and policymakers to find solutions, select management methods and models in line with the trend of globalization and the technology revolution. The University of Economics and Business - The University of Danang in collaboration with National Economics University, Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), Westphalian University (Germany) and University of Liège (Kingdom) Belgium) organizes an International Conference on Management and Business (COMB 2019). This is the first year that the COMB Conference has been upgraded from a national conference to an international one with the participation and presentation of nearly 100 scientists and experts from many universities, institutes, and research institutes and many other countries like Ireland, Germany, Belgium ...

Opening speech at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice-Rector of the University of Economics on behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee welcomes delegates, scientists and experts from domestic and international universities. Coming to COMB 2019, the scientific community will have the opportunity to share and exchange many aspects of International Business & Administration in Belgium, Ireland, China, India ... In Vietnam, issues heated discussion from FDI units and domestic units across the provinces from North to South were also discussed enthusiastically. With increasing scale and quality, COMB 2019 will continue to be a prestigious conference that attracts leading experts in the fields of management, management, and economies across the world in the coming years.

The conference organizing committee has received 67 scientific papers, of which 36 were evaluated and selected by the Editorial Board in the conference proceedings. The highlight of this year's conference is the presence of two leading speakers in the field of Management & Business: Assoc. Prof Mario Cools (University of Liège) and Ph.D. AISLING CONWAY LENIHAN (Cork Institute of Technology). At the seminar, the scientists will focus on the following topics:

- Starting a business interested in newly formed businesses, stages of business development, innovation and management of startups

- Human resource management discusses the strategic and technical aspects of management measures such as force planning, recruitment, development, and investment, remuneration, employee retention, motivation and interest of the labor system.

- Organizational behavior aims to understand the organizational environment from the perspective of individuals, individuals, groups, and organizations as well as the interaction, connection and interdependence of these organizations in implement organizational strategy.

- Operational and supply chain management explores value chains, supply chain management, and logistics

- Consulting and managing prioritizing strategic implementation issues in the short, medium and long-term, and applying modern management theories to daily work and building new theories based on practical activities.

- Marketing explores customer needs, characteristics and behavior in the retail market and the tourism sector in the era of e-commerce.

Two papers with the same highest score: 'Applying artificial neural networks to explore prominent factors significant turnover intentions among public hospital doctors in Ho Chi Minh City' by Nguyen Quyet and 'Board connections and post-merger performance: Evidence from an emerging economy 'by Tran Thi Ngoc Vy and Huy Nguyen were awarded Best Paper Award.
