Student's scientific research symposium for the year 2016-2017 at faculty level: academic mastery - practical application

From May 8th to May 18th, 152 scientific research topics of theoretical and practical significance were presented by students of 10 faculties at the "Student Conference for Scientific Research at Faculty level 2016-2017’. This conference aims to promote the spirit of self-study, creativity in students and to improve the quality of training of the University of Economics - University of Da Nang.

A number of specialized articles  have been written and posted   with the support of instructors, contributing to solving social problems such as: Understanding the law of multi-level operation in Vietnam, the impact of the quality of retail services on customer satisfaction and loyalty – A case study on supermarkets in Danang City (Faculty of Marketing), Analysis of scale and structure of budget expenditure to the economic growth in Da Nang (Faculty of Economics) ....
At the symposium  this year, the majority of research topics focused on learning activities, extracurricular activities, soft skills improvement, especially the problems of student in starting up.. This shows that the students of the University of Economics have well-applied their specialized knowledge and invested in research to make the foundation for business start-up later. There were some typical topics such as: Factors affecting students’ intention to start a business in Central Vietnam (Faculty of Business Administration), Awareness of professional skills in students at University of Economics - University of Da Nang (Faculty of Economics), Levels of leadership development through life skills of students participating in extracurricular activities in youth organizations: A case-study on Youth Union activities - Students Association of Danang University (Faculty of Business Administration), Study of factors affecting the intention to start business of students of University of Economics - Da Nang University Nang (Department of Statistics - Informatics) ....
 In addition, for students in High Quality programs, 100% of their research topics are presented in English. This is an opportunity for the students to access foreign materials and improve their ability to do research and present their topic in English. Some of the topics in English are presented at the conference at Faculty level such as Relationship between the ownership structure and performance of the listed companies on Ho Chi Minh stock exchange (Faculty of Finance), The Effect of Board characteristics on material misstatements in Financial statements of Vietnamese listed companies (Faculty of Accounting), The impact of state ownership on profitability of Vietnamese commercial banks (Faculty of Banking)
Many research topics have been graded by the Board and highly appreciated for their ability to apply software in research as well as practicality to society. The Board also pointed out some points that need to be addressed in the analytical approach, highlighting the content of the study, orienting students to perfection and expand the scope of the scientific subject. Excellent topics will be nominated by the Scientific Board at Faculty level to participate in the conference of student scientific research - University of Economics - University of Da Nang held on June 6th.
