University of Economics - The University of Danang (DUEVietnam), Institute of Global Finance at the University of New South Wales (Australia), and Aston University (UK), are organizing the 6th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF-2020), to be held on June 11-12th, 2020 in Danang City, Vietnam. As a result of DUE’s close collaboration with international partners, the ICOAF-2020 brings together the world-leading experts in accounting, finance, and related fields, serving as a unique point of convergence in South East Asia for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to meet, share, and exchange their ideas.

The Organizing Committee would like to invite you to be a part of the ICOAF-2020 and submit your research papers for presentation consideration. The conference welcomes submissions in all areas of finance, banking, and accounting, of both theoretical and empirical natures (English only).

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Professor Kwangwoo ParkProfessor of Finance and the Head of the Graduate School of Finance at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul, Korea).

Professor Kwangwoo Park received his PhD in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has Bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University in Seoul. Prior to joining KAIST, Dr. Park has taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he also got a PhD in economics. His current areas of research interest include banking, corporate finance, and sustainability. He has been publishing a number of articles in top finance journals including the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Banking and Finance among others. Dr. Park currently serves as the Editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Financial Studies which is the first finance journal listed in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also a board member of the Journal of Financial Stability (SSCI). Dr. Park has been a research fellow for many leading institutions including the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Bank of Korea (the central bank), and Korea Corporate Governance Service, and has been serving as a member or a chair of a number of advisory committees for the Korea Fair Trade Commission, Financial Service Commission, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Office of the Prime Minister in Korea.

SPECIAL SESSION

The 2020 ICOAF is also aimed at providing a forum for focused discussions on the feasibility of financial reporting standards/guidelines for nonprofit organisations – especially NGOs that receive grants from large entities. Therefore, a special session on the International Financial Reporting for Nonprofit Organisations will be run by Professor Carolyn Cordery, Professor in Charity Accounting and Accountability at Aston University (UK). Professor Carolyn has undertaken a number of commissioned research projects, and published work in relevant international journals such as: Accounting, Auditing and Accountability JournalAccounting HistoryBritish Accounting ReviewFinancial Accountability and ManagementAccounting & FinanceJournal of Accounting and Public PolicyPublic Management Review and Public Money and Management.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITY

The conference organizers, in consultation with the Editors-in-Chief of Asia Pacific Journal of Financial Studies (AJFS), will invite the authors of high-quality papers presented at the conference to submit their manuscripts for a conference paper review process at the AJFS. The AJFS is the first finance journal listed in the Social Science Citation Index (ISI/SSCI) in the Asia-Pacific region. Also, all accepted papers presented at the 2020 ICOAF will be published in the conference proceedings with an associated ISBN.

All submissions must be in Word format, and be sent electronically via the conference website by no later than March 31st, 2020. The conference scientific program will be available by June 01st, 2020.

BEST PAPER AWARDS

All papers will be considered for the Best Paper Award in Finance, and in Accounting.

Registration fee includes the abstract book, the conference proceeding CD, and other conference materials. It also includes welcome reception, coffee breaks, lunch, and a gala dinner during the conference. Accommodation is not included.
