Professor Truong Nguyen Thanh shares insights on "Innovation in Higher Education: Digital Transformation Strategy and the Development of Open University Model"

Professor Truong Nguyen Thanh from the University of Utah, USA, engaged in a knowledge-sharing session with scientists and educators from member universities of Da Nang University on the workshop "Innovation in Higher Education: Digital Transformation Strategy and the Development of Open University Models" held on August 17-18. This event was co-organized by the National Innovation Center for Technology and Training, Da Nang University, and the University of Economics, Da Nang University.

The workshop was attended by notable figures such as Ms. Tan Anh, Head of Human Resource Development Division at the National Innovation Center for Technology and Training (NIC); Assoc. Prof. Le Quang Son, Vice Director of Da Nang University; Ms. Dinh Thi My Hanh, Head of Student Affairs Department at Da Nang University. From the University of Economics, Da Nang University, there were Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Deputy Rector, and Assoc. Prof. Le Van Huy, Deputy Rector, along with numerous scientists and educators from member universities of Da Nang University.

The program aimed to create a space for connecting, sharing, and discussing topics related to innovation in higher education. It also sought to enhance awareness and understanding of the environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation strategies, and the development of open university models. This initiative aimed to establish a high-quality scientific forum that would enable experts, administrators, and scientists to improve their professional capacities and directly participate in the implementation of activities that foster innovation, digital transformation, and the establishment of open university models at Da Nang University.

Prof. Truong Nguyen Thanh had many interesting sharings with the lecturers

Professor Truong Nguyen Thanh delivered fascinating insights during the event. He engaged with educators on various topics, including the evolution of higher education from 1.0 to 4.0, essential conditions for modernizing higher education, passive learning versus active learning, building teams and team projects for courses, effective activities to develop an environment that supports innovation and entrepreneurship among faculty and students, digital transformation strategies for universities in the context of Vietnamese higher education, and the significance of building information network infrastructure for university activities. The discussion also touched upon the importance of a Learning Management System (LMS) in digital transformation strategies and the creation of team projects focused on the digital transformation strategy for Da Nang University.

Lecturers actively participated in the program, engaging in discussions and posing questions to Professor Truong Nguyen Thanh. Additionally, they formed practical teams to work on projects related to building an open university model for Da Nang University. Each team presented one project and devised an action plan for the subsequent steps.
