The Opening of 162nd AUN-QA quality assessment activitie

On the morning of October 8, the opening ceremony of the assessment activity according to the quality accreditation standards of the Southeast Asian Universities Network (AUN) took place at the University of Economics and University of Danang in three bachelor training program: Auditing, International Business, Marketing from University of Economics. The AUN Accreditation Team consists of experts from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore, including:

- Prof.Dr. Marilou G. Nicolas - Auditor chief of Auditing Sector - Head of the delegation;

- Dr Wyona C. Patalinghug - Chief Commissioner of English Language - Vice President of AUN-QA Council;

- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tan Kay Chuan - Chief Marketing Auditor;

- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ornlatcha Sivarak - Lead Auditor of International Business;

- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Mohd Nizam Ab Rahman - Auditor of Auditing;

- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Kiran Kaur - Auditor of the English Language;

- Dr Fondador D Mendoza Jr - Auditor of International Business;

- Dr Merlin Teodosia Suarez - Auditor of Marketing;

- Ms. Ing-orn Jeerararuensak - Secretary of the Union.


On the side of Da Nang University, there was the presence of Assoc.Prof Le Quang Son - Deputy Director, representative of the unit whose program is evaluated was Assoc. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of University of Economics, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies ​​and leaders of faculties, departments of two universities.

The University of Economics in recent years has always maintained its reputation as one of the leading centers of training and scientific research and knowledge in Central - Highlands and the whole country. The University's training activities have contributed to providing high quality human resources for the whole country and reaching out internationally. In the trend of internationalization and international integration, it is even more necessary to ensure the quality of education according to international standards. Through this evaluation, on October 7, 2019, University of Economics was awarded the certificate of quality from AUN-QA training program for 2 majors: Business Administration and Accounting, The University of Economics continues to hope to receive recommendations from AUN's accreditation team to improve the quality of education.

After the opening speech, Assoc. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of the University of Economics gave an overview of the university's development history, vision, mission, faculties, students and training programs. Located in one of the leading economic-political centers nationwide, the University of Economics - University of Danang with 44 years of establishment and development, aims to become a center of training and research, knowledge in Vietnam. With the scale of training 11,500 students, graduate students, the University of Economics is currently training 27 Bachelor's degree, 6 master’s degrees,  4 doctor’s degrees. More than 80% of teaching staff are educated in advanced education institutions in the world such as the United States, Australia, England, Europe, Japan ... The University of Economics is also a prestigious brand in providing High quality human resources for agencies, business community, corporations of Vietnam and the world with the rate of more than 96% of students finding jobs after 6 months of graduation. Constantly improving the quality of training, the school focuses in bringing active education into teaching and career guidance for students, and the University is also proud to be one of the first 6 schools in Vietnam to meet the national quality standards for education. In addition, the University's international network of partners is constantly expanding, contributing to the realization of students' dream of studying abroad as well as enhancing knowledge exchange among scientists around the globe.


Also at the opening ceremony, AUN-QA Vice Chairman: Dr. Wyona C. Patalinghug congratulated the University of Economics's officials, lecturers and students on completing AUN-QA accreditation for Business Administration and Accounting. Representatives of the accreditation team hope that this will be a great push for the school to continue fulfilling its accreditation and evaluation activities for 3 sectors: Auditing, International Business, Marketing and more in the future. .

With the aim of developing human resources through higher education in the ASEAN region, in 1995, the ASEAN University Network (AUN) was established. In order to promote quality assurance within universities in the region, AUN has launched an initiative to assess the quality of higher education according to the ASEAN regional quality assurance standards. Appreciate the initiative and activeness of the University of Economics and Foreign Language Studies in the evaluation activities according to AUN standards. It is hoped that this evaluation will gradually contribute to the recognition of academic achievement, training quality of the two universities as well as strengthening cooperation with universities in Southeast Asia.



Before the opening ceremony, the delegation had a tour of the campus to evaluate facilities for teaching, research and practice of the University. The delegation expressed impression and appreciated the equipment, facilities and infrastructure of the University of Economics and Business. During the first working day, the delegation will discuss with the leaders of the faculties with the evaluated program, the SAR Team Leader, SAR team members, officials, employees, alumni and employers. The assessment is expected to take place in 3 days from September 8-9, October 10, 2019. Participants in face-to-face interviews include faculty leaders, department heads and SAR team members, 58 alumni, 46 employers, 60 lecturers, 51 staff, and 60 University students.
