The University of Economics is honoured to have a new Associate Professor

In the morning of April 23, 2018, on behalf of the State Council for Professor Title, the Council for Professor Title of the University of Danang (UD) hosted the conferment ceremony of Associate Professor Title and the announcement ceremony on the Appointment Decision of Associate Professor 2017 title for the new Associate Professors of UD. Accordingly, The University of Economics (UE) - University of Danang had a new Associate Professor, teacher Tran Ngoc Anh- Faculty of Political Economy.

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr.Sc. Bui Van Ga - Vice Chairman of the State Council for Professor Title, Former Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam - Chairman of the Council for Professor Title of UD, Chairman of Regional University, President of UD, Vice Presidents of UD; leaders of the Organizing Unions, Offices, Functional Departments and leaders of member and affiliated universities; Professors and Associate Professors of UD.

In 2017, UD had 21 teachers recognized as Associate Professors by the State Council for Professor Title. The Science and Training Council of University of Technology, University of Economics, University of Education, University of Foreign Languages and University of Technology and Education have considered, voted and proposed to their Principals to make an appointment decision of the Associate Professor Title for 21 teachers. On this occasion, UD also awarded the certificate of Associate Professor to a teacher who is working at Quang Nam University (Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Anh) and an officer working at Danang Eye Hospital (Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dat).

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of UD emphasized that this achievement is not only the recognition of the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training for the contribution of individual teachers, scientists, teaching staff who have enthusiasm and good capacity, but also a common achievement and honor, marking a remarkable step in the development of the whole UD.

 “Constructing and developing staff is one of the nine important tasks given in the Resolution 29-NQ/TW of the 11^th session of Central Executive Committee about the fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training. This is also one of the key tasks that partly contributes to completing the strategic target of UD, which is to become a research-oriented university in 2020.” – Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam emphasized.

In 2017, the development process of UD was remarkable when the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has made important decisions about orientation for development strategy of UD and member universities, especially focusing on developing Hanoi National University; HoChiMinh city National University and Danang University to become the three high-quality university cities in the North, Middle and South of Vietnam. In addition, the Prime Minister also agreed on principles for UD to apply the same mechanism like the two Vietnam National Universities.

On behalf of the new Associate Professors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai – University of Technology, UD expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Council for Professor Title and the leaders of UD as well as the leaders of member universities that has given the opportunity for the new Associate Professors to study, research and contribute, and has trusted and appointed them to new positions. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai has pledged that with all enthusiasm and intellect, the new Associate Professors will accomplish the new mission to live up to the role and expectations of UD leaders and University leaders.
