Opening Ceremony of the 360th AUN-QA Programme Assessment for 4 Training Programs at the University of Economics, University of Danang

On the morning of November 7th, the University of Economics, Danang University, solemnly organized the Opening Ceremony for the 360th AUN-QA Educational Quality Assessment for 4 training programs: Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics, and Human Resource Management.
The AUN Inspection Team includes experts from Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines:
● Assoc. Prof. Anan Mungwattana - Head of the delegation, chief inspector of the Management Information Systems training program.
● Prof. Suzeini Binti Abd Halim, AUN-QA Council member, chief inspector of the Economics training program.
● Prof. Rowena L. Escolar Chua, RN, chief inspector of the Business Administration program.
● Mr. Prem Anand M Arjunan, Chief Inspector of the Human Resource Management program.
● Assoc. Prof. Kanog-on Rungrojngarmcharoen, Inspector of the Business Administration program.
● Dr. Jiraporn Intrasai, Inspector of the Economics program.
● Dr. Julita Robles, Inspector of the Management Information Systems program.
● Dr. Myrna P. Quinto, Inspector of the Human Resource Management program.
● Ms. Soranee Chuyingsakultip, Assistant Director of AUN-QA, AUN-QA Secretariat, Thailand.

Dignitaries attending the opening ceremony from Danang University included Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thanh Viet, Head of the Educational Quality Assurance Board, and from the University of Economics, Danang University: Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Toan - Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Le Van Huy - Rector, along with the Board of Directors and leaders of Departments, Offices, and Centers of the University.

In his warm welcome address to the distinguished inspectors, Assoc. Prof. Le Van Huy emphasized that the 360th AUN-QA Educational Quality Assessment for the 4 training programs is a significant event for the University to introduce its programs and contributions to the goals and aspirations of the ASEAN community.
Established in 1975, the University of Economics, Danang University, has consistently asserted its leading position in the Vietnamese higher education system. With 8 successfully assessed programs according to AUN-QA standards, including Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, International Business, Marketing, Hotel Management, Banking, and Corporate Finance, the University has become a leading university in Vietnam with multiple internationally accredited programs. This achievement serves as motivation for the University to persistently strive to enhance educational quality and implement AUN-QA standard programs.
The University of Economics, Danang University, is confident that the ASEAN University Network (AUN) - with its goal of improving the quality of higher education institutions in the ASEAN region - will provide invaluable support by offering profound assessments and constructive feedback, continuing to drive the University towards higher standards. The University also aims to nurture and strengthen the collaborative relationship between the University and the ASEAN University Network.
Following the opening ceremony, the inspection team watched a video introducing the University of Economics, Danang University. With over 48 years of experience in education and training, the University has played a crucial role in providing high-quality, economically focused labor for Vietnam and ASEAN countries, contributing to the overall development of the nation. The university currently comprises 12 faculties, 01 affiliated department, 08 functional offices, 8 centers, 01 library, and a lecturer of 414, including 03 professors, 21 associate professors, 110 doctors, and 191 masters. Most of the lecturers graduated from prestigious universities worldwide.
The University of Economics, Danang University, is presently offering 19 undergraduate programs, with an annual enrollment scale of approximately 3,000 students. Furthermore, the university's international partner network is continually expanding, contributing to realizing students' study-abroad aspirations and enhancing knowledge exchange among global scholars.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Anan Mungwattana - Head of the Inspection Team, congratulated all the lecturers and students of the University of Economics for their active participation in the AUN-QA educational quality assessment for the 4 training programs. The evaluation process will begin with a constructive approach to further strengthen the University and its training programs.

The educational quality assessment according to AUN-QA this time took place from November 7th to November 9th, 2023. The AUN-QA inspection team conducted various specialized activities, including researching documents, self-assessment reports, and accompanying evidence; interviewing relevant parties involved in the assessed programs, such as department leaders, faculty, students, support staff, alumni, and employers; conducting on-site inspections and evaluating all conditions related to facilities, services, and training support resources.
