Tien Phong newspaper: Da Nang youths organize Green Summer Campaign for patients and elderly living alone

Before commencing the campaign at the base camp in Hoa Bac commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang City) for the Green Summer Campaign 2023, the Youth Union of the University of Economics - Da Nang University initiated several meaningful volunteer activities.

With the enthusiastic spirit of youth, the University of Economics - Da Nang University organized various meaningful activities to kick-start the Green Summer Campaign, such as preparing and distributing noodles to patients at the hospital; visiting, encouraging, and giving gifts to the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in the area; participating in coastal environmental cleanup, etc.

Among these activities, preparing and distributing 250 servings of Quang noodles to patients at the Obstetrics - Pediatrics Hospital in Da Nang attracted hundreds of youth union members to participate.

These activities demonstrate the proactive and voluntary spirit of the youth from the University of Economics - Da Nang University, contributing to the successful implementation of social welfare tasks at the local level.

Not only preparing a meal, but the youth union members also helped clean and maintain the surroundings of the Phaolo Da Nang Loving Shelter, engaging in friendly conversations with the elderly residents, and organizing entertaining performances for them.

In addition, the Youth Union presented 25 gifts, tidied up the dining area, shared, and provided support for the elderly during the activity day.

According to Mr. Van Cong Vu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the University of Economics - Da Nang University, through these activities, the youth union members demonstrated their social roles and responsibilities, contributing to shaping the image of a new generation of youth with "Compassion, Wisdom, and Great Aspirations."

Undaunted by hardships, the young volunteers diligently cleaned all the windows at the shelter, and carefully cut and tended the nails of the elderly.

Prior to this, the Youth Union also organized a visit and gift-giving activity for the Heroic Vietnamese Mother, Phung Thi Thuy, at 142 Binh Ky, Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City.
