Award Ceremony for the Creative Contest Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the University of Economics

On the afternoon of April 25, the University of Economics – The University of Danang held the Award Ceremony of the Creative Contest on the occasion of its 50th founding anniversary (1975 – 2025). The contest attracted a large number of authors participating in three categories: Prose, Poetry, and Photography. Attending the ceremony were MSc. Phan Kim Tuan – Vice President of the Trade Union of the University of Danang, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Khanh – Lecturer of the Faculty of Literature and Communication, University of Education – The University of Danang, and a member of the Judging Panel. Representing the University of Economics were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Party Committee Secretary, Chairwoman of the University Council, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh – Vice Rector, President of the University Trade Union, along with numerous staff members, faculty, and students.

In her opening remarks at the award ceremony, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh emphasized the significance of the contest in expressing gratitude and pride in the University’s 50-year tradition. After four months of launch, the organizing committee received 150 entries from all over the country. The judging panel worked impartially to select the most outstanding works – creations not only of artistic value but also expressing deep emotion and vividly portraying the journey of development through generations of lecturers, staff, and students of the University of Economics.

As part of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Huu Ai – Former Head of the Faculty of Political Theory, emotionally shared about the process of composing his prose work “The unforgettable years”. With profound memories and sincere emotions, he recreated a period of hardship yet filled with enthusiasm at the university in its early days of establishment and growth.

In the Photography category, MSc. Ngo Bich Thuy – Deputy Head in charge of the Department of Specialized Foreign Languages, presented her oil painting “The dawn of legacy”. The painting depicts the university in the light of dawn, carrying a message of a promising beginning and strong development in the future.

Representing the younger generation, First Runner-up of the Talented and Graceful Students Contest Miss & Mister DUE 2025 – Tran Ngoc Lam My, brought refreshing and proud emotions through her poem “Proud of DUE”. The work conveys a love for the school, the teachers, and a strong belief in continuing the glorious tradition of generations of students at the University of Economics.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented awards for each category: 03 first prizes, 03 second prizes, 03 third prizes, and 06 consolation prizes in the categories of Prose, Poetry, and Photography. Notably, the First Prize in the Prose category was awarded to author Le Huu Ai for the work “The unforgettable years”; the First Prize in Photography went to author Ngo Bich Thuy for the oil painting “The dawn of legacy”; the First Prize in Poetry was awarded to the poem “Sowing Seeds” by author Tran Dinh Mai (Alumni Teachers’ Association of the University of Economics). In addition, many second, third, and consolation prizes were awarded to authors of impressive and emotional works, contributing to the success of this special creative contest.

The contest was not only an occasion to record memories and emotions toward the University of Economics but also a bridge connecting generations of teachers, staff, and students, jointly nurturing love and pride for the University of Economics – The University of Danang, a school that is continuously developing strongly and confidently stepping into a new era.
