Trade Union Congress of the University of Economics, term X of 2023 - 2028: Innovation - democracy - solidarity - development

The Trade Union Congress of the University of Economics - University of Danang for the term 2023-2028 was solemnly held on the morning of April 2, 2023. The Congress elected 11 comrades to the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union, term X, and approved a report summarizing trade union activities in the period of 2017 - 2023 as well as the direction of activities for the period of 2023 - 2028. Attending the congress were the presence of Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung - Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Danang, the Vice Chairman and members of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Danang; delegates from the grassroots union under the Trade Union of the University of Danang; On the side of the University of Economics, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Rector of the University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector of the University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Van Huy – Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh - Vice Rector of the University and representatives representing all trade union members of the University of Economics.
Cultural performance to welcome the congress
The Congress had a look back on the outstanding activities of the last term through a video clip reporting the summary of trade union activities in the period 2017 - 2023. The last term was given the attention and direction of the Trade Union of the University of Danang, the Party Committee - Board of Directors of the University of Economics, the University's Trade Union has successfully completed the tasks such as taking care of life, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the cadres - employees, contributing to improving the capacity of employees, as well as building the University to reach the vision and fulfill the mission of DUE; Actively propagating and mobilizing cadres and employees to implement the Party's guidelines, the state's laws and policies, resolutions and guidelines on trade union work; developing a contingent of teachers and educational administrators; Well organizing patriotic emulation movements, large social campaigns among cadres and workers, "Innovation, creativity, efficiency in the operation of the Trade Union"; The work of female cadres and the emulation movement "Being good at both school work and housework" was implemented effectively; Unite to build a strong trade union; participating in building a clean and strong Party. With the efforts in the past term, the Trade Union of the University of Economics has been recognized by the superior trade union through many certificates of merit, emulation flags; Notably, the School Union was recognized as a "strong grassroots union" for 5 consecutive years, awarded the "Vietnam Education Union Emulation Flag", honored to be awarded the Emulation Flag by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for outstanding achievements in the movement of emulating good labor and building a strong trade union organization in the 2019-2020 school year.

Entering a new term with new challenges, the Trade Union of the University of Economics is determined to make efforts to change and adapt to keep up with and meet the innovative needs of the society. Setting goals for the term 2023 - 2028 with the action slogan: "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", the Trade Union of the University continues to successfully complete the work of protecting legitimate rights and interests, legitimacy of employees, ensuring a harmonious labor relationship to meet the requirements of the University, which is rising to regional and international standards; Effectively organize patriotic emulation movements and campaigns throughout the University, contributing to the development of the contingent of teachers and educational administrators in order to carry out a fundamental and comprehensive renovation of the education system as required for standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization, and international integration; Effectively implement feminist activities for gender equality and the advancement of women.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung highly appreciated the achievements in the activities of the Trade Union of the University of Economics in the last term. The Trade Union of the University of Danang is impressed with the work to ensure the material and spiritual life of employees, especially during the complicated Covid-19 epidemic season, creating stability among all employees. Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung also acknowledged the contributions of the Executive Board of the School's Trade Union for the 2017-2023 term, always upholding creativity and innovation, actively responding to the upper-level Union's campaigns and emulation movements. Creativity has spread to most of the trade union members, creating excitement in teaching and learning, meeting the requirements of assigned tasks. The Trade Union of the University of Danang believes that the Executive Committee for the term 2023-2028 will continue to promote the spirit of the past term, leading the trade union movement to develop even more strongly, worthy of a "second home" of trade unionists of the University of Economics.

The University's Trade Union has always made great efforts to build a joyful, cohesive environment with a harmonious and fair labor relationship, taking care of life and encouraging union members to adapt and overcome difficult circumstances of the disease; thereby contributing to creating a professional and effective learning and working environment, towards the school's value system "Integrity - Cooperation - Respect - Creativity - Sympathy". University leaders put their trust in the Executive Board for the new term, with creativity and innovation in all aspects of activities, the University's Trade Union will continue to be a reliable representative of trade union members, accompanying the University realize the goals in the development strategy of the University to 2025 and a vision to 2035.

The delegates also had a session to discuss and comment on the congress document, proposing many specific, practical, and effective solutions to improve the quality of the school's trade union activities. At the congress, the Trade Union of the University of Danang rewarded 06 individuals, and the Trade Union of the University of Economics awarded certificates of merit to 24 individuals for their outstanding achievements in trade union activities in the period 2017 - 2023.
