DUE students in Ireland (part 1): Bring the start-up desire to the emerald island

11/09/2017

This winter, the Cork Technology Institute (CIT) will welcome two young students from the University of Economics - University of Danang (DUE). With confidence and spirit, Tran Thanh Toan (Class 41K15.2 - Faculty of Finance) and Nguyen Thuy Duong (Class 40K01 - Faculty of Commerce) are yearning to bring to Ireland the start-up spirit of DUE students.

Happiness  and surprise are my feelings of knowing that I have won the exchange scholarship to CIT. I spent a lot of time to take the IELTS exam as well as strive for high achievement during the time at DUE. I myself have been fortunate to be selected when the applicants are all excellent students with outstanding achievements. Now I have completed the final procedures to officially set foot in Ireland. The time to study at the Rubicon Startup Center - where Startup ideas come in handy - will surely help me grow up, and possibly I will bring some models of applications back to Vietnam.

In addition, my major in CIT is Marketing (which is a far different from the corporate finance I am studying at our school). This is a great opportunity for me to cultivate and enrich my knowledge. In addition, the experience in Ireland is also great in the student life. Exploring life and people in the "cold land" is a burning desire since I was a child. I often imagined an Irish country simply with white snow, people are always wearing warm boots and exhaling the smoke. All of this urge me to come to this country sooner. Ireland - I came here!

It is a privilege to be one of the two DUE students to attend the exchange study at CIT. I am currently very eager to experience a completely new culture - education. CIT, with a friendly learning environment and a large number of international students from many countries, will provide me opportunities to exchange, make friends and learn more knowledge such as foreign languages, thinking, experience starting from teachers, friends, even the people here.

* Tran Thanh Toan and Nguyen Thuy Duong are two students studying economics in Ireland under the exchange scholarship program between the DUE and CIT within the framework of the project. Erasmus+ project. During the study period, students will be supported with return air tickets, tuition fees, living allowances, and the results of their studies in CIT at the University of Economics. There are still a lot of exchange scholarships within the framework of Erasmus+ project waiting for you, please follow up at the fan page of Science and International Cooperation Department on Facebook!

Furthermore, CIT and UE-UD are leading partners in the fields of education, training, start-up. I will strive to achieve good results, courageous start-up ideas to promote the image of UE-UD students confident - dynamic - creative, to contribute to build a cooperative relationship between two universities and offer more opportunities for students to study at CIT.
