DUE inspiration (part 1): Nguyen Phan Hoang Vu - a young, dynamic General Director

As a young, dynamic person who loves literature and art, Nguyen Phan Hoang Vu, a 39K student majoring in Development Economics, Class 39K04 - Faculty of Economics, University of Economics has become the General Director of VSK Vietnam Energy Joint Stock Company specializes in the field of renewable energy, solar power.

Like many other young people, before opening his own business, Hoang Vu also registered to work in many companies. “With the knowledge provided by the school when I was a student, I could confidently answer all the questions related to professional factors, however, it also depends a lot on other personal factors to meet all the requirements of the employer”, Hoang Vu shared. Recalling the days when he was still sitting in the lecture hall, Vu said: “DUE is the environment for many extra-curricular activities for students such as Youth Union activities, Associations or Club activities. I am fortunate that in addition to the school curriculum, I also participated in a lot of these activities, so I am a lot more confident in the requirements and challenging environment that need to be adaptable and flexible ”.

Commenting on himself, Hoang Vu found himself lacking in many aspects and also in self-confidence. To make up for those shortcomings, he must continue to try and continually learn from those around him, read more books related to his field as well as skills. Recalling the memories of the student's life, Hoang Vu confided: “At the time I was a DUE student, the teachers and staff in the Faculty in particular and the school in general helped me a lot in studies and some other life aspects. By the time I graduated from school until now, I still have certain contacts with some of the teachers in the school. When I was a DUE student, the school has provided me with the library with lots of valuable books and the air-conditioned room, the computer room, the soccer field.

Despite the young age, when Hoang Vu decided to set up a business and started to enter a new industry of renewable energy, he knows that he will certainly face many challenges. However, with the spirit of vision, positive and creative thinking, he always thinks that: “When entering any industry or field, as long as I have a progressive attitude, I will overcome the initial difficulties. When I entered the electricity industry, I started to review the knowledge learned from secondary and high school, updated the basic knowledge about electricity, solar energy. Facing in-depth knowledge, knowledge formed from 4 years of study, problem-solving skills are challenging aspects for me to overcome”. Thanks to the relentless efforts of Hoang Vu, the company has now successfully implemented hundreds of projects from household scale to solar power farms with a capacity of fewer than one million watts. VSK Vietnam, after two years, has developed a nationwide network and currently has more than 15 branches in cities and provinces such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam ... Although he is always considered as a young talent and success in his career, Hoang Vu himself is very humble: “At present, I have not achieved success, I am still new in this solar power industry and there is still a challenging way to go. The future still awaits so I still don't know what will happen. My goal will be to implement the renewable energy program through many other aspects, making my small contribution to the community”. He wants to remind the students: “Prepare yourself fully, try to do more than the time in school by joining some extra-curricular activities and maybe part-time work at some places to accumulate experience as well as have a chance to explore student's life ”
