UE-UD in collaboration with Cork Institution of Technology conducts a project sponsored by Irish Aid in 2016. With the total budget up to $76.000, this project aims to promote the entrepreneurship culture and skillset among young Vietnamese students. This outcome can be obtained by a combination of diverse interventions to:
· Adopt the Irish leading student start-up training program at Rubicon Centre- CIT onto the Vietnamese partner-UE-UD. This intervention intends to improve the capacity of the UE-UD partner by transferring the knowledge and assisting them to develop a specific training curriculum oriented to Vietnamese start-ups.
· Pilot a six-month training experience for a number of potential start-ups in Vietnam, commencing with a competition of business ideas in Central Vietnam, followed by a fourth-month period of training at UE-UD. During the training, young start-up will be connected to potential investors and fund providers as well as other supporting agencies and institutions. This training will then be reinforced by a month on-the-job training at Irish companies. The aim of this training intervention is to provide entrepreneurs with skill and knowledge; as well as to assist them to start their businesses.
· Create a long-run impact on the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Central Vietnam by setting up a standing entrepreneurship initiative named “Start-up Club”. Through this club, young entrepreneurs can meet, exchange ideas and support each other. This is also a place where UE-UD can maintain their ongoing support to entrepreneurs by delivering entrepreneurship programs previously adopted from CIT. The content of the program as well as the commitment of mutual Cooperation between the two institutions will help sustain and develop the Club into the future. A network of experienced entrepreneurs and experts is to be created for mentoring young start-ups to establish and develop their business.
· Create a long-run cooperation between UE-UD and CIT with local business community through Start-up Club. This form of collaboration will enhance knowledge both institutions for all as well as create a bridge a connection between managerial science and business community.
