On the afternoon of May 11, the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Delegates of the University of Economics, term 2024 - 2027, was solemnly held. This event marks a significant milestone and a remarkable transformation of the collective efforts during the development and growth of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at the University of Economics. It also serves as an occasion to review the results of the Youth Union and student movements of the University of Economics - Da Nang University for the term 2022-2024 and to set goals and directions for the term 2024 - 2027.

Delegates attending the Congress

Attending the Congress was Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh - a member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Da Nang Youth Union. From Da Nang University Youth Union was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Secretary of the Da Nang University Youth Union. Representing the University of Economics - Da Nang University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy - Rector of the University along with representatives of the University’s management board; leaders of various departments and faculties; members of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union, term XI, and more than 200 outstanding delegates representing over 12,000 union members currently active at the University.

Throughout 11 congresses, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Economics - Da Nang University has always been proud to be the source of many exemplary movements, with a large, enthusiastic, and creative membership. The solidarity and unity of the members and students have been pivotal. Reflecting on the term 2022-2024, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the intellect, courage, enthusiasm, and creativity of the youth, under the action slogan “The Youth of the University of Economics - Da Nang University united, pioneering in innovation, mastering science and technology to contribute to building a prosperous and happy country”, the Youth Union has effectively promoted the pioneering and volunteer spirit of the youth in social development; addressing the legitimate needs and aspirations of the union members and students; bringing the Youth Union closer and truly becoming a close friend of the union members and students during their studies at the university.

Comrade Tran Thanh Thao - Secretary of the University of Economics Youth Union for the term 2022 - 2024 delivered the opening speech

In her opening speech, Comrade Tran Thanh Thao - Secretary of the University of Economics Youth Union for the term 2022 - 2024 stated: “We are delighted and proud that the Youth Union is increasingly consolidated, contributing to building a new generation of University of Economics students with a pure heart, bright mind, great ambition, daring to face challenges, rising in life, proactive, confident, and internationally integrated.”

The term 2022 - 2024 marks the maturity of the University of Economics Youth Union members in many aspects. The youth have demonstrated solidarity, creativity, pioneering, volunteer spirit, continuously improving revolutionary qualities, and completing assigned tasks. Alongside this, the Youth Union and student movements faced many difficulties and challenges, and there are still many limitations, requiring the Youth Union organization and each youth member to continuously strive and train to mature.

Today’s Congress is an opportunity for the youth of the University of Economics to summarize and evaluate their accomplishments and shortcomings to learn valuable lessons, laying the foundation to elevate the Youth Union’s work and student movements to new heights. The Congress also aims to set goals, directions, and tasks for the Youth Union and student movements for the term 2024 - 2027 with the action slogan: “The youth of the University of Economics - Da Nang University - courageous, pioneering, creative, adaptive, serving”

- Steadfast and patriotic, determined to uphold the goal of national independence associated with socialism, faithfully and excellently continuing the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

- Pioneering in action, leading, volunteering, daring to think, daring to do, ready to face difficulties and challenges, willing to go anywhere and do anything for the country.

- Continuously creative, mastering modern science and technology, striving for entrepreneurship, effectively utilizing the advantages of the fourth industrial revolution, confidently integrating, affirming Vietnam's intelligence and position internationally.

- Serving the university, community, society, and humanity; youth members contributing intellect, building noble character, spreading positive images, and contributing to the development of the homeland, community, nation, and humanity in general.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat praised and recognized the outstanding achievements of the University of Economics Youth Union, Da Nang University, during the past term. He also suggested additional focuses for the Youth Union to concentrate on in the upcoming term.

At the Congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the University Council, delivered a directive speech, affirming that the University of Economics - Da Nang University always supports the development of Youth Union activities and trusts in the success of the Youth Union in the upcoming term. She also outlined key directions and content that the Youth Union needs to invest in during the 12th term to align with the university’s overall development strategy.
