Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice-Rector of the university, delivered the welcoming speech

Delivering the welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice-Rector of the university emphasized that the VSCT-2023 International Conference on Climate Change, held for the first time in Da Nang, served as a gathering place for researchers, students, and scholars to exchange experiences, share ideas, and present new research results in Economics, Finance & Banking, as well as Business. Discussions would not only focus on the practical challenges that Vietnam faces but also address global issues. The conference aimed to foster a dynamic environment for interdisciplinary exchange, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research efforts.

Assoc. Prof. Do Hung from Massey University spoke at the conference

Following the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Do Hung from Massey University delivered a speech affirming that the world is challenged by the global threats posed by climate change and environmental issues, leading to severe economic and social consequences. Addressing these global threats requires collaboration from all relevant parties, including governments, corporations, and civil society, to minimize their harmful impacts and ensure a fair transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and sustainable economy.

Prof. Charles Mason presented research at the conference

In the first discussion session, Prof. Charles Mason presented the topic "Fat tails in commodity markets: Implications for investment under uncertainty." A special policy roundtable discussion followed, addressing "Pathways to Net-Zero Carbon Emissions: From Political Agenda to Actions," with speakers including Prof. Dang Viet Anh (University of Manchester, UK), Dr. Lilas Demmou (OECD, France), Prof. Charles Mason (University of Wyoming, USA), and Dr. Toan Phan (Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, USA).
