24/10/2023

On the morning of October 24, at the University of Economics, University of Danang (DUE), a specialized seminar on sustainable tourism and the digital economy took place. This event was part of the overall session of the Ulysseus Forum - DaNang: Smart City Training, Research, and Innovation Cooperation (UDERIF 2023), a collaboration between the University of Danang and the Ulysseus Alliance of European Universities.

The seminar was attended by scholars and researchers from the Alliance of European Universities (ULYSSEUS), with Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Vice Rector of DUE, and leaders from various departments and centers, including the Student Support and Business Relations Center, the Examination and Quality Assurance Department, the Research and International Cooperation Department, the Faculty of Tourism, the Faculty of E-commerce, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Marketing, and a large number of students.

The integration of sustainability in tourism and the incorporation of digital technology into the economic structure has brought about significant transformations. These changes promise not only economic prosperity but also responsible resource management on a global scale. In her welcome address at the conference, Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh emphasized, "The essence of this seminar is to underscore a shared belief: Through innovation, research, and collaboration, we can harness the potential of the digital age while ensuring the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage for future generations." This goal is also one that the University of Danang and the Ulysseus Alliance of European Universities have supported, recognizing that there are many opportunities in the relationship between sustainable tourism and the digital economy. These opportunities include enhancing the tourist experience, optimizing business operations, and, most importantly, promoting comprehensive economic growth and environmental awareness.
