Share the experience of hunting for a Fulbright scholarship

From the information that alumni and successful candidates of the Fulbright scholarship share about how to prepare and complete the application at the Fulbright Referral Program, students and faculty members of the school can firmly grasp and more confident to prepare the US study visa in the best way. The program was held on the afternoon of February 28 with the presentation of Ms. Huy Thi Hanh, Fulbright program assistant, alumni and successful candidates of Fulbright scholarships; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of the school, representatives of leaders of the Department of Science & International Cooperation and interested lecturers and students.
At the program, Ms. Huy Thi Hanh, Fulbright Program Assistant introduced about Fulbright scholarship programs including: Master's Scholarship, Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Scholarship and Scholar Program. The scholarship part includes tuition fee, monthly living expenses, round-trip airfare, health insurance. The US government will grant about 20 full master's scholarships per year.
Candidate criteria: Be a Vietnamese citizen (without dual nationality) residing in Vietnam during the application process, have graduated from a university, have at least 2 years of experience since graduation, Toefl IBT 79/ IELTS 6.5/ PTE A 58/ Doulingo 105.
Fulbright Program Timeline: 12/2022: open online application, April 17, 2023: closed online application, August 2023: interview, 11-12/2023: Gre/ Gmat, Toefl/ IELTS exam, 4-5/ 2024: results from universities, 7-8/2024: going to school.
Fulbright Scholarship Application: 02 essays, 03 direct letters from the nominator, curriculum vitae, Transcripts and diplomas, English test scores.

About selection criteria: Fulbright appreciates clear learning goals, the connection between learning goals and future goals. Thorough understanding and working experience of the intended field of study. The audience that Fulbright sought was people with leadership potential. Potential to contribute to the community upon return. Contribute to the promotion of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Vietnam. Willing to be a cultural ambassador of Vietnam and a person with academic ability and English proficiency.
About the essay: Must be a story about yourself, original, genuine, and different. Tell a stranger about your whole life for 5 minutes. The story should have consistency: a clear and consistent content, the selection of details to include in the story. The story should be written in an impressive way, the choice of words, the arrangement of the impressive opening plot, the personal impression. The story should have specific examples, evidence for the message, increase the diversity and uniqueness of the individual.
Guests share tips for completing Fulbright scholarship applications
At the program, students and lecturers also had the opportunity to interact directly with guests who are alumni and successful Fulbright candidates. The guests shared their experiences when going to the interview that you need to review your resume, the fields of study, the school you have chosen and why. Desired future career and benefits of pursuing a Fulbright master's degree in the US. Plan after finishing school and return to Vietnam.
