THE OFFICIAL APPROVAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN LOGISTICS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DA NANG OVER THE COURSE OF 2021-2022

25/01/2022

This project is a part of the Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnamese Government, the French Community of Belgium, and the Committee of the French Community of Brussels. The University of Economics has had the honor of cooperating with the University of Liege (Belgium) on this project throughout 2022-2024. This was followed by the success of the aforementioned projects ( the period of 2016-2018 and 2019-2021) with the view to contributing to strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and the Wallonie- Brussels Logistics Association in the training and research field.

The contractual parties are putting in a lot of effort to reinforce the connection of affiliated stakeholders in the logistics field, promote research and practice activities of logistics work in the area. As part of this initiative, the University of Economics has sent lecturers to study management models, logistics training as well as research training at the University of Liege (Belgium).

On the East-West Corridor (EWEC), Da Nang covers a vital general port, container, and international tourism in the central region, while also conducting goods transits in Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar regions, with accessible transportation infrastructure forming the link between regions. Da Nang, in comparison to other places, will gain a better chance of becoming a significant seaport in the future as a result of this. Furthermore, Da Nang has placed a strong emphasis on long-term urban development and economic reform that favors service growth. These favorable aspects are creating the foundation for Da Nang's development in the logistics area, providing investors with a new avenue to pursue.

The successful implementation of international logistics research and development projects will contribute to the development of high-quality human resources in the field, and this marks a turning point for the University of Economics as a training center and a leader in logistics technology transfer in the central region.

In addition, it is expected that in October 2022 in Da Nang, the University will coordinate with Ha Noi Foreign Trade University and the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association (VALOMA) to co-organize the Vietnam annual national scientific conference in logistics and supply chain management for the second time. This is regarded as an important event for experts, scholars, state managers as well as businesses to share, exchange and propose solutions on how to improve the efficiency of logistics activities, thereby, assisting investors and businesses in determining a development strategy that is suitable for the new context.
