Included in the program of External Assessment activities of Educational Institutions Quality, the University of Economics - the University of Danang by the Education Quality Accreditation Center – Hanoi National University, on December 15, the External Evaluation Team held a preliminary survey to serve the official survey at the end of December. Joining directly the preliminary survey at the University of Economics, there were Dr. Dinh Van Toan - Deputy Director of Education Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University, a permanent member of the delegation, and Dr. Hoang Thi Xuan Hoa - Secretary of the delegation. In terms of joining online, there were Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Chairman of the Quality Assurance Council of Hanoi National University, Head of the delegation, and MSc. Vu Minh Phuong - Education Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University - Delegation supervisor.

Welcoming the delegation of external assessment experts, on the side of the University of Economics, there were the presence of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Dinh Khoi Nguyen – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Van Huy – Vice Rector; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Head of the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assurance and representatives of leaders of Departments and Centers under the University.

In the content of the work, the evaluation delegation carried out a preliminary examination of the preparation of the evidence; inspected a number of locations arranged by the University of Economics to serve the official assessment. The delegation's initial impression of the proof system, facilities, and equipment for testing was quite well prepared and guaranteed. In addition, the delegation also commented on the layout plans, arrangement of positions, and workplaces to best serve the upcoming inspection.

Inspecting facilities for accreditation

At the official working program, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Dinh Khoi Nguyen introduced the Board of Directors, the Self-Assessment Council and presented the self-assessment process of the University. Accordingly, the University of Economics - the University of Danang is one of the first universities in the country to carry out accreditation of educational institutions, the University was granted a certificate of quality standard in October 2016. After the 5-year cycle, by 2021, the university will promote self-assessment activities and prepare the conditions for accrediting the University cycle 2 according to the set of standards for evaluating the quality of educational institutions, including 25 standards, 111 criteria are issued according to Circular 12/2017 of the Ministry of Education and Training. The University established a Self-Assessment Council in April 2021 with 17 members including the entire University leadership, heads of some functional departments and faculties. In the context of the stressful Covid-19 epidemic, the University still conducts self-assessment activities and accreditation application documents (reports and proofs) in a scientific manner, with close supervision on progress, implementation quality as well as information technology application in information sharing and evidence.

Process of self-evaluation of education quality from the University of Economics always follow the instructions Self-assessment by the Ministry and carried out in a serious and demanding spirit. The Self-Assessment Report has honestly and objectively described all aspects of the University's activities in the period 2016-2021 in accordance with the requirements of the Assessment Standards as well as identified the strengths and frankly pointed out the shortcomings which are needed to continue to improve in the near future. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Dinh Khoi Nguyen, on behalf of the University, committed to coordinating with the Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University to well perform all the preparations for the Official Survey, serving external assessment from December 24 to December 28.

After introducing the objectives, survey content and members of the external assessment delegation, the leader of the Education Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University reported the results of the profile research as well as discussed more with the University of Economics about the plan of official accreditation.

The team leader, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan, expressed pride in the development process of the University of Economics after the first accreditation of educational institutions by the Education Accreditation Center in 2016. The evaluation delegation also recommended that the University of Economics ensure a number of factors to serve the official survey such as supplementing and clarifying some more evidence; ensuring technical factors, transmission lines, creating favorable conditions for the interview process; arranging specialized technical staff to handle arising problems; especially directing to strictly comply with regulations on epidemic prevention and control, ensuring the health of staff, lecturers, students, and experts of the delegation.

The evaluation delegation and the University of Economics actively worked and discussed to agree on a number of issues to be prepared: additional supporting documents; number and composition of interview subjects; objects to be observed and examined; official survey schedule; logistics for the survey.

After 02 hours of working with a high spirit of consensus, the representative of the Education Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University and the leaders of the University of Economics - the University of Danang signed the Documents of the preliminary survey, confirming the preparation and readiness of the University for the upcoming official survey.

On behalf of the University of Economics, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Dinh Khoi Nguyen thanked the experts of the External Evaluation Delegation and wished that the survey results would be objective and fair, demonstrating the University's efforts in ensuring the quality of education. The results of educational accreditation are also the goal that the University aims to improve the university governance model in the context of autonomy, contributing to enhancing the position of the University of Economics in the region and reaching internationally.
