Having taught at the University of Economics since 2010, Dr. Su Ngoc Diep understands that she must invest in research because scientific research helps lecturers improve and expand the quality of lectures. “One of the reasons why I like to do scientific research is to experience many levels of emotions that make my life more meaningful. That was the feeling of being in a rush to come up with a publishable idea, and then start researching it. This is a very long way, from collecting data, investigating, interviewing, reading analytical documents ... In particular, the diligent period of reading and writing can last up to a year ".

Up to now, Dr. Diep has had 15 articles (both the main author and co-author), all of which have been published in international journals in the ISI category, Q1 (short for Institute for Scientific). Information, Institute of Scientific Information: ISI journals have the leading reputation in the world, the quality of ISI journals is evaluated based on impact factors divided into four groups from Q1 to Q4. Q1 has more quality and is harder to post than Q4). With Dr. Diep, each research article brings herself more experiences and draws more experiences.

There are 2 works that lecturers of the Tourism Faculty are most interested in. It is an article on “The relationship between motivation and traveler satisfaction with a heritage tourism destination” published in Tourism Management Perspectives (ISI, Q1) in 2020. This is a research paper meticulous research, takes a long time to access and collect data. Unlike previous studies that mainly focused on pre- or post-experience, this one used a survey that was aimed at travelers during their on-site experiences.

The second article titled: "The shopping behavior at the green packaging practice food stores", was researched by Dr. Diep in collaboration with two colleagues in the Department of International Business, published in the Journal of Cleaner Production (ISI, Q1). This is an article that makes her happy not only because it is recognized by a prestigious magazine, but more importantly to create research motivation for two young colleagues who do not have much experience. Their joy and confidence made her more interested in scientific research.

Dr. Su Ngoc Diep is also the instructor of the topic "Writing scientific research articles with students of the Faculty of Tourism". “I think the young people are really good. Just arousing their passion, providing them with knowledge, guiding them to the right method, an ISI, Q1 article is still likely within their reach ”, Ms. Diep happily confided. For many people, scientific research is something dry, even boring. But for this young teacher, scientific research is like an interesting miracle for her to explore and discover new knowledge.

Dr. Diep affirmed, in the current globalization context, with the important role of scientific knowledge, the more practical significance of lecturers promoting scientific research, turning the training process into a self-training process. This is also the necessary basis to meet the increasing needs of the society, to train, foster and develop human resources, especially high-quality human resources for the industrialization cause.

In 2020, Dr. Su Ngoc Diep was awarded a certificate of merit by the City People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in science and technology activities. This is an incentive to scientific researchers and is considered a measure of the quality of research. Currently, Dr. Diep is conducting research on a series of topics on "environmentally-friendly behavior". "In the trend of sustainable development and minimizing negative impacts on the global environment”, I believe this research direction will make valuable contributions in terms of theory and practice," she said.
