In 2018, seven scientists from DUE were commended and awarded by the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

On the morning of November 10, 2018, a ceremony was held to commend individuals with outstanding achievements in technological activities in 2018. Notably, there were 7 authors from the University of Economics - University of Da Nang (DUE) with 9 articles published in ISI journals that received commendation from the People's Committee of Da Nang City. The awarded individuals included Associate Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Rector - Faculty of Finance; Dr. Le Minh Hieu, Faculty of Economics; Dr. Dang Tung Lam, Faculty of Finance; Dr. Dang Huu Man, Office of Science & International Cooperation - Faculty of Finance; Dr. Dang Thi To Nhu, Faculty of Economics; Dr. Hoang Thi Bich Ngoc, Faculty of Statistics - Informatics; and Dr. Le Dien Tuan, Faculty of E-commerce.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, Dang Viet Dung, shared: "Behind a research topic, a scientific work, or a commended scientific article today, there is an entire process of labor, sweat, tears, and a great dedication and spirit of devotion. The recognition today is necessary but not sufficient." The People's Committee of Da Nang City suggested that the City's Department of Science and Technology and the media continue with other appropriate forms of recognition to ensure that society acknowledges the efforts, intellect, and contributions of scientists to the construction and socio-economic development of Da Nang, the region, and the country as a whole.
With the achievement of 9 internationally published papers in ISI-listed journals, the University of Economics - University of Da Nang (DUE) is honored to receive the Science and Technology Award from the People's Committee of Da Nang City. This is great news for the university's scientific research activities in 2018 and will serve as motivation for DUE scientists to continue their passionate pursuit of creativity, exploration of new knowledge, and aim to establish the University of Economics as a renowned research center in the region.
