On the morning of March 25th, the Economics Department organized a successful External Seminar program online, with the theme "Components Trade, Foreign Ownership, and Firm Performance." The seminar was presented by Dr. Chu Minh Hoi, a Research Fellow from the University of Western Australia (UWA).

The seminar attracted a large number of faculty members, researchers, and students from the Economics Department. Dr. Chu Minh Hoi shared his research on the impact of trade liberalization on businesses and the Vietnamese economy. The research findings highlighted that trade liberalization contributes to the improvement of labor productivity in firms, generates employment opportunities, and connects the Vietnamese economy with the global economy. It also attracts foreign investment, contributes significantly to GDP growth, increases export activities, and facilitates technology diffusion.

During the seminar, the faculty members of the Economics Department also shared their research on the impact of foreign investment in Vietnam, highlighting both the positive effects and challenges of trade liberalization faced by Vietnam.

Dr. Chu Minh Hoi also discussed the current research directions at the University of Western Australia, expressing the potential for collaboration in research and training at the master's and doctoral levels between the two institutions.

The seminar provided an opportunity for networking, academic exchange, and enhancing the subject knowledge and research capabilities of the faculty members, students, and scholars in the Economics Department.

At the end of the seminar, the Economics Department expressed sincere gratitude to Dr. Chu Minh Hoi and expressed the desire for continued collaboration and academic exchange on mutually interested topics in the future.
