Massey University has grown from a small agricultural college and was established as a university under the Massey University Act 1964. It is also New Zealand’s only truly national university, with a proud 80-year tradition of academic excellence. Massey University comprises the following areas of significant activity for teaching, research and community service: Massey Business School, College of Creative Arts, College of Health, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Sciences. Thus, our five college structure offers the broadest range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with more than 100 degrees, diplomas and certificates. Key discipline areas include: Agriculture and Horticulture; Conservation Ecology; Engineering, Nutrition and Human Health; Accounting and Finance; Food Science and Nutrition; Information and Mathematical Sciences; Molecular Bioscience; Science and Applied Engineering; Social Sciences ; Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Massey University has three campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington with approximately 3000 full-time staff to cater for approximately 34,000 students studying internally (over 4000 international students from over 100 countries) and more than 1200 PhD enrolments.
The Massey Business School is one of New Zealand’s leading and largest business schools having more than 13,000 students. The school is benchmarked by the AACSB as among the top five per cent of business colleges globally. Undergraduate program offers bachelor degrees in discipline areas: Bachelor of Accountancy, Bachelor of Applied Economics, Bachelor of Business Studies, Bachelor of Communication, Bachelor of Retail and Business Management, Bachelor of Social Work. Postgraduate program offers master degrees including Master of Business Administration, Master of Business Studies, Master of Communication, Master of Finance, Master of Information Sciences. The school has the greatest number of MBA graduates in NZ and has been in Top 10 in New Zealand & Australia for finance. The Finance program has Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program Partnership Status (only 11 in Australia/NZ).
