Opening up the direction of the auspicious cooperation between UD-DUE and City University of Seattle (US)

On the morning of March 7, the delegation of lecturers from City University of Seattle - CityU included Mr. Denny Dang - Senior Counselor of the School, Mr. Hiep Quach - member of Board of Management of National University System (USA). visited and worked at the University of Economics - The University of Da Nang. Receiving the delegation were representatives of the Rector Board: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of the school; Dr. Dang Huu Man - Deputy Head of Science & International Cooperation Department and Dr. Doan Thi Lien Huong - Deputy Head of Training Department.


At the beginning of the meeting, the representative of CityU briefly introduced the scale and training program of the school. Located in the city of Seattle (USA), CityU is one of the largest non-profit universities in the US Northwest region. The school trains undergraduate and graduate levels in the fields of Accounting, Computer Systems, Business Administration, Project Management and General Science,ect. CityU provides high-quality training and lifelong education for everyone with learning demand. Currently, CityU has been cooperating with many educational institutions around the world through the 2+2 transition program, and hopes that the meeting will open up opportunities for cooperation in many fields with University of Economics - The University of Danang.

 

Representative DUE - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh was very impressed with the scale and quality of CityU's training and said she will work actively with CityU representatives to continue to expand the partnership network around the world. With the advantage of being in Seattle - where the majority of the Vietnamese community is living - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh believes that CityU will receive the attention of students and lecturers of the University of Economics. In addition, the University of Economics has signed fourteen 2+2 cooperation programs with many partners around the world, so it will be convenient to discuss similar programs with CityU representatives. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh expressed her concern about taking care of international students, incentives in studying and living expenses for students and the similarity in the training program between the two schools to build the transition cooperation program.

Mr. Hiep Quach was very pleased with the goodwill of representatives of the University of Economics and willing to listen to the suggestions from the partners. Regarding the transition cooperation program, Mr. Hiep Quach suggested that the two sides would discuss in more detail the content of the training programs, then agree on the student transfer program to reach a cooperation agreement. In which, 3 advanced programs proposed by CityU include: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) - Centralized Finance, Bachelor of Science in Project Management (BSPM) - Information Technology Centralized, Bachelor of Arts in Management (BAM) - Cyber ​​Security focus. In addition, the City also wants the two sides to strengthen cooperation through the exchange of students and faculty to facilitate cultural exchange, sharing teaching experiences and scientific research.


The two sides discussed more about foreign language support for transfer students. CityU is committed to providing maximum support to improve foreign language proficiency and to ensure foreign language requirements when students study in the United States. The DUE also sent invitations to attend and write articles for two major seminars held by DUE in 2018 - the International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF) and the Marketing in the Connected Age (MICA).

The meeting and working session took place in the spirit of high unity between the two sides. Representatives of the two schools believed that the cooperative relationship would develop further in many fields, reflected in the cooperation agreement for training which would be signed in the near future.
