Scientific conferences: open exchange forum among policy makers

 

Within the framework of 02 projects of Science and Technology by The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED). The University of Economics - UD in collaboration with the Board of Directors of these projects held a series of scientific seminars with the topic "Effects of heterogeneity of institutional investors on the efficiency of the stock market and the role of country-level institutional environment." And "Influence of the information environment and external governance mechanisms on financial decisions and corporate acquisitions" on the morning of January 29, 2021. Assoc. Prof. Le Van Huy, Vice Rector of University of Economics, UD; Assoc. Prof.Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of University of Economics with a large number of lecturers and students attended the seminar. 

Opening the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Le Van Huy, Vice Rector of the University said: “Today's scientific conference wants to create an open exchange forum between policy makers, business managers and scientists. At the same time, it will contribute to strengthening the annual exchange of scientific research cooperation between the University of Economics, UD with the business community, policy managers, and expanding the development of bilateral cooperation. - multilateral in the future”.

 

The seminar included the representation of Assoc. Prof. Dang Tung Lam with the project "Institutional investors and stock liquidity volatility", Report on Institutional Environment, Acceptance of Risks and Financial Crisis" by Assoc. Prof.Vo Thi Thuy Anh; Report "Media press and capital structure of the company" by Assoc. Prof.  Dang Huu Man.

 

The reports presented at the seminar assessed the impact of institutional investors on liquidity and stock price informativeness, with particular emphasis on institutional investor heterogeneity; clarify the role of the national institutional environment for the relationship between institutional investors and two aspects that reflect the performance of the stock market.

At the same time, it provides findings to add new knowledge about the role of institutional investors in the stock market in terms of countries with different levels of development and institutional environments. Workshop to assess the impact of the information environment and governance mechanisms outside the company on financial decisions and corporate restructuring, and the role of the information environment in the merger market and acquisitions in countries with differing institutional environments and levels of information transparency.

Complete the theoretical framework on the impact of the information environment, governance mechanisms outside the company on financial markets, especially in the context of countries with different levels of development and institutional environment, and proposing a number of recommendations, suggestions and policy implications.
