COMB SEMINAR 2018: THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTERPRISES IN THE "ENTREPRENEURSHIP ECOSYSTEM"

On 12 January 2019, University of Economics – The University of Danang cooperated with University of Economics – The University of Hue and Nha Trang to organize COMB Seminar 2018 with the topic "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem". The seminar was attended by representatives of Da Nang Department of Science and Technology and members of Danang University, representatives of the business community and scientists and researchers, lecturers and managers from universities, colleges and institutes all over the country.

Assoc.Prof.Dr Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of University of Economics – The University of Danang delivered a speech to welcome scientists to attend the seminar.

At the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of University of Economics - The University of Danang affirmed that in the current context, businesses must not only pay attention to the optimization of internal management system but also need to expand interest in non-business entities including: suppliers, distributors, customers, competitors, authorities and other social organizations. These subjects combine to constitute the "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem" where the activities of any one subject not only affect the subject itself but also others, thereby promoting the development of not only businesses but also components of ecosystems and the whole society. This constitutes an inseparable relationship, in which each entity must be flexible and adaptable to survive like "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem".

COMB is a forum for academic exchange and experience sharing among scientists, entrepreneurs and policy managers on opportunities and challenges in business innovation. With the mission of being a pioneer in researching and transferring scientific knowledge on management and business for local businesses, the University of Economics – The University of Danang continues to be a prestigious university in organizing national and international seminars, contributing to the transfer of knowledge into practice, aiming to build a leading research-oriented university nationwide.

With the theme "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem", COMB Seminar 2018 received 54 scientific articles, of which 38 were evaluated by the Editorial Board and selected for publication in the proceedings of the seminar, and presented at 5 main sub-committees:, Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, Startup Ecosystems, Administration and operation, studying value chain and industry management, organizational culture and social responsibilities .The contents that the workshop focused on including:

- Business ecosystem: content, components, constituent modules, models, lessons learned in creating, nurturing and developing business ecosystems;

- Business spirit and strategic thinking in business ecosystem, ecosystem of innovation, digital business ecosystem, cooperation and competition in business ecosystem, creating value in the Entrepreneurship system;

- Startup ecosystems, innovation ecosystems: formation and development, the role of the State and the Science community, development models, innovative ecosystems;

- Development of management platform (platform management): changes, trends in corporate governance adapting to business ecosystems;

- Developing an alliance of businesses (Consortium), developing business networks (Business network), social capital in business networks, information security in business networks;

- Performance / performance of supply network, industrial ecology development (Industrial ecology), supply chain development, global value chain.

- Corporate culture, corporate social responsibility: internal brand, organizational culture, cultural value, balance the lives of workers.

The presentations at COMB seminar were highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee on the content as well as the scientific content. Besides, The seminar also delivered practical experiences, suggestions and new solutions of scientists to improve Corporate governance capacity, actively support the development of enterprises in " Entrepreneurship ecosystem".

The sessions presented at the subcommittees attracted the attention of many scientists, the authors have received a lot of contributions and criticisms for their studies, thereby recognizing the pros and disadvantages of research. In addition, many researchers are graduate students, when presenting at the seminar, they received comments for the thesis, as well as suggestion other research directions for their projects.

The most outstanding topics were also honored by the Organizing Committee through the Best Paper Prize at the seminar: "The role of universities in entrepreneurship in the Vietnamese context" (author group: Mai Thi Thao Chi, Nguyen Le Dinh Quy, Le Van Huy); "The impact of entrepreneurship training in universities on the intention to start a business - the case study at Danang University" (author Nguyen Son Tung); "Factors affecting competitiveness of flower production enterprises in Da Lat city" (author Nguyen Ngoc Duy), "Effect of quality standards & food safety on the value chain Export seafood of Vietnam - Case of pangasius industry "(author Nguyen Thi Tram Anh)," Organizational culture of enterprises in Thua Thien Hue province according to Denison's model "(Authors: Truong Thi Huong Xuan, Nguyen Dang Hao, Nguyen Tai Phuc).

COMB 2018 Seminar ended with great success with the impression of the organization as well as the quality of the dissertation topics. Continuing to succeed in organizing seminars, in 2019, University of Economics – The University of Danang aims to exchange world-class scientific knowledge forums such as the International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF), Vietnam International Conference in Finance (VICIF).
