GRADUATING AFTER 3 YEARS, A LAOTIAN STUDENT SHARES HIS LEARNING TIPS

Graduating from the General Business Administration with good academic performance, Xayavong Nalongsack (class 41K02.2 - Business Administration Department) is one of the few Laotian students to be rewarded by the University of Economics – The University of Danang in the first Graduation Ceremony for full-time student in 2019. More specifically, Xayavong Nalongsack is the first Lao student to complete the program within 3 years. This is the result of a great effort in learning as well as a great encouragement for Xayavong Nalongsack on the road to achieve the dream ahead.

Hello Nalongsack! First of all, congratulate you on being the new bachelor of the University of Economics – The University of Danang in the upcoming graduation ceremony. Can you share with us your feelings before that important moment?

- Of course, my family and I are very happy and proud to become a new graduate, especially with the early completion of the program. It was a little nostalgia to be away from friends, teachers and the DUE school with good memories here.

Completing a bachelor's degree in just 3 years is not an easy challenge, especially for Laotian students, so how did you overcome that challenge?

- Ever since entering DUE, I have built a roadmap to study scientifically and try to implement the goals I set out for each semester. Each session at the university is a valuable time for me to listen to basic and specialized knowledge. In addition, I also pay attention to important keywords with each subject to study at home, thereby helping myself understand the lesson and the purpose of each subject. Besides, studying in group, exchanging with friends and studying outside school materials are also very helpful for me in acquiring knowledge.

So what is the biggest challenge in 3 years while you are studying at DUE?

- The biggest difficulty for most Laotian students here is probably the language. Therefore, in addition to learning specialized knowledge, I also tried to cultivate Vietnamese and practice with Vietnamese friends.

Mixed with happiness is the nostalgia when having to be away from friends, teachers and DUE. 

What is your deepest impression of DUE?

- It is the friendliness and enthusiasm of friends, teachers here. In the past, I was quite shy and self-deprecating, but thanks to the dynamic learning environment and the sharing of my friends and teachers, I have become more open and attracted by this place. On this occasion, I would also like to thank my friends who have helped me a lot in my study and life, and my gratitude to Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu and many other teachers for the knowledge and useful advices.

Can Nalongsack share more about your plans and dreams in the future?

- After graduating, I plan to return to my hometown of Xavanakhet (Laos) to work in the supply chain management and logistics industry, and hope that one day I will become a successful entrepreneur in this field. And if I have the opportunity, I will return to the University of Economics – The University of Danang to continue to improve myself for a better career path!
