Partnership With Marriott Group to Develop Tourism Workforce

On April 3, 2026, the University of Economics - The University of Danang signed a memorandum of understanding with Marriott Group, marking a new milestone in the partnership between the university and the business sector in tourism and hospitality. Attending the signing ceremony on behalf of the University of Economics were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of the university, along with leaders of the Training Department, Student Affairs Department, Business Relations and Communications Department, leaders of the Faculty of Tourism, and a large number of students from the Faculty of Tourism.
Marriott Group is one of the world’s largest hotel and tourism corporations, operating thousands of hotels globally, including many properties in Vietnam such as Sheraton, JW Marriott, Renaissance and Le Méridien. With a strategic focus on developing high-quality local human resources, Marriott consistently prioritizes partnerships with reputable educational institutions to build a workforce that meets international standards.
The memorandum of understanding between the two parties focuses on developing human resources for the tourism and hospitality sector through practical activities such as organizing study visits, field trips and internships within Marriott’s hotel system; coordinating training and career counseling activities; holding thematic talks and career orientation sessions; and supporting recruitment for the university’s students and alumni.
Under the agreement, students of the University of Economics, particularly those majoring in tourism and hospitality, will have the opportunity to access a professional working environment that meets international standards, enhance practical skills and gain hands-on experience. At the same time, the university is committed to providing a high-quality talent pool that meets Marriott’s recruitment needs.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of both sides expressed their expectation that the partnership would continue to expand and deepen, contributing to improved training quality, stronger connections between the university and businesses, and more learning and employment opportunities for students. The memorandum of understanding will remain in effect for four years and will serve as the basis for implementing specific cooperation programs in the coming period.
The signing ceremony between the University of Economics and Marriott Group is one of the university’s practical efforts to realize its strategy of linking education with real-world practice and enhancing the quality of human resources in the context of increasingly deep international integration.
