     HISTORY

    Faculty of Political Science, formerly the Department of Marxism – Leninism, was founded in 1975 at the University of Science and Technology. In 1998, other departments of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in the member institutions of the University of Danang were professionally incorporated into the faculty; subsequently, it was relocated to the University of Economics and Business Administration. In January 2008, the Faculty of Marxism-Leninism was divided into two faculties: Faculty of Marxism-Leninism and Faculty of Political Economy, under the direct management of the University of Economics – University of Danang. In January 2010, the Faculty of Marxism-Leninism was renamed Faculty of Political Science.

    During 40 years of construction and development, the faculty underwent severalsplits and mergers; however, its importance has not diminished owing to the zealous dedication of its faculty staff to itself in particular and the development of the University of Danang in general. Qualified lecturers of the Faculty are experienced in teaching courses in political science such as Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, History of Communist Party of Vietnam, Political Science, and Philosophy Studies at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels at the member institutions of the University of Danang. The faculty also offers the postgraduate certificate programs in philosophy for lecturers. Besides, it directs the core courses in the specialized training program in Political Education major at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Education. To date, the faculty launched two primary programs of the University of Economics: MSc of Philosophy and BSc of Public Administration and Governance in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

    The faculty has a staff of 15 lecturers and one faculty secretary. Among the lecturers are two associate professors, five doctors, four graduate students, and four masters. Having been trained domestically and abroad, the teaching staff has extensive experience and capabilities in education and research.

     MISSION

    We equip learners with a scientifically comprehensive methodology of General Philosophy, Marxism-Leninism in particular; Ho Chi Minh Thought; and the Revolutionary Policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam; so that, they can creatively and practically apply the knowledge of cognitive science, and enhance civic responsibility in our national missions.
