SHARES OF MS. NGUYEN THUY DUONG, A STUDENT IN CLASS 40K01LCLC, ABOUT EXCHANGED EXPERIENCES IN IRELAND

17/07/2017

When asked about the experiences of studying, living and exchanging in the exchange process in Ireland, Duong shared:

- Regarding learning, the initial concern is language barrier and study abroad are not quite the same as in Vietnam. However, this period only lasts about 1-2 weeks, I was able to get used to it and catch up. In Ireland, each subject lasts only 1 lesson, not 3-4 lessons like that in Vietnam. The teachers explained that breaking up the learning time helped students gain more knowledge and learned more, and I had to simultaneously move to another room for the next subject, to help students move more. After each lesson, I will proactively meet with the subject teacher to ask for materials or to be taught more, they are willing and very happy to see students actively learn so. In addition, there will be a lecturer in the department in charge of exchange students, both in terms of studying and living, they always asking questions to make sure there are no difficulties in the learning process here. Each subject has practical sessions in weekly labs and practical group exercises to apply the knowledge learned to the work. The group mates will gather at the library or canteen to work together and discuss, this help me not only in completing the exercises but also introduce and share about the life here. With the activities, the exchange students will be well-equipped with a dormitory, not much to worry about. Attending the exchange program in Ireland is also an opportunity to experience traditional holidays here such as St. Patrick's, Christmas, New Year, Easter ... In addition, Vietnamese New Year, a program to celebrate traditional New Year is organized by the Vietnamese community, which is also an opportunity for you to invite international students to join and get acquainted with a new culture. Becoming a scholarship recipient in Erasmus exchange program is a valuable opportunity to help students step out and integrate with the world. The Faculty of International Business is proud to have a large number of students participating in exchange programs in countries like Ireland, England, France, Germany, ...

It was a small corner in Duong's experience in the exchange process in Ireland.
