Meaningful Activities Held to Celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8)

On the afternoon of March 6, 2026, the Trade Union of the University of Economics - The University of Danang organized a celebration to mark International Women’s Day (March 8), honoring the significant contributions of female staff and employees to the development of the University.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice President and Chairwoman of the University Trade Union; along with members of the Trade Union Executive Committee and a large number of union members.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy extended his warmest congratulations to all female staff and employees of the University on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He expressed his deep appreciation for the important contributions made by female lecturers, administrators, and staff in teaching, scientific research, management, and support services.

Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy emphasized that throughout the University’s development journey, female union members have consistently demonstrated responsibility, dedication, and strong professional expertise. Their efforts have played a vital role in improving the quality of education and research while contributing to the development of a professional and humane academic environment.

On behalf of the University leadership, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Huy also wished all female union members good health, happiness, and continued success, expressing his hope that they would continue to contribute their talent, intellect, and enthusiasm to the University’s development in the years ahead.

As part of the program, the University also honored lecturers who had recently been conferred the titles of Professor and Associate Professor, recognizing their outstanding achievements and contributions to the University’s academic and research activities.

The ceremony also marked the introduction of the Women’s Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

In response to Ao Dai Week and to celebrate International Women’s Day, the University Trade Union organized the online competition “The Story of Ao Dai”, which attracted enthusiastic participation from many affiliated trade unions. At the event, the Organizing Committee presented awards to units with outstanding achievements as follows:

First Prize: Training Office Trade Union.

02 Second Prizes: Banking Faculty Trade Union; Political Theory Faculty Trade Union.

03 Third Prizes: Student Affairs Office Trade Union; Marketing Faculty Trade Union; International Business Faculty Trade Union.

04 Consolation Prizes: Quality Assurance & Information Technology Trade Union; Statistics and Informatics Faculty Trade Union; Tourism Faculty Trade Union; Organization & Facilities Office Trade Union.

First Prize of the “The Story of Ao Dai” competition was awarded to the Training Office Trade Union.

Second Prizes were awarded to the Political Theory Faculty Trade Union and the Banking Faculty Trade Union.

Third Prizes went to the Marketing Faculty Trade Union, the Student Affairs Office Trade Union, and the International Business Faculty Trade Union.

Consolation Prizes were presented to the Tourism Faculty Trade Union, the Organization & Facilities Office Trade Union, the Statistics and Informatics Faculty Trade Union, and the Quality Assurance & Information Technology Trade Union.

In addition, affiliated trade unions also took part in the “DUE Puzzle” Competition, delivering creative performances that showcased solidarity, dexterity, and pride in the University of Economics. The activity contributed to creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, strengthening connections among participants while spreading the distinctive cultural values of the DUE community.

The First Prize was awarded to the joint team of the International Business Faculty Trade Union and the Law Faculty Trade Union.

Second Prizes went to the joint team of the Marketing Faculty and the Business Administration Faculty, and the Organization & Facilities Office Trade Union.

Third Prizes were presented to the joint team of the Economics Faculty and the Banking Faculty, the joint team of the E-commerce Faculty and Quality Assurance & Information Technology, and the joint team of the Student Affairs Office and the Planning - Finance & International Cooperation Office.

Consolation Prizes were awarded to the joint team of the Political Theory Faculty and the Statistics - Informatics Faculty, the joint team of the Finance Faculty and the Training Office, and the joint team of the Tourism Faculty and the Accounting Faculty.

The celebration of International Women’s Day was not only an occasion to honor the valuable contributions of female staff and employees, but also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity within the University community, inspiring each individual to continue contributing to the sustainable development of the University of Economics - The University of Danang.
