Student Scientific Research Series 2025 (Part 1): Persistent Efforts in Creating Academic Value
24/12/2025
The Student Scientific Research Series 2025-2026 is launched to honor individuals with outstanding achievements while spreading the spirit of rigorous, persistent, and creative scholarship within the academic and research community of the University of Economics - The University of Danang.
Beyond recognizing exemplary research outcomes, the series also focuses on sharing knowledge, experiences, and research skills. It aims to address common challenges encountered throughout the research journey - from idea formation to publication - thereby supporting learners in approaching scientific research in a structured and effective manner, while fostering a long-term passion for academic inquiry.
In this first installment, we are pleased to introduce Tran Anh Dao (Class 47K17, Faculty of Business Administration), a remarkable student with many noteworthy achievements. In 2025, Anh Dao won the Second Prize at the Ministerial-level Student Science and Technology Awards and the Encouragement Prize at the Euréka Awards, marking a journey of serious and persistent research efforts.
From a spark of passion
Initially motivated by the desire to complete a high-quality graduation thesis, Anh Dao embarked on her research journey with a strong sense of responsibility. However, the research process itself gradually reshaped her original goals. She shared: “The deeper I went into the research process, my initial curiosity gradually transformed into a genuine desire for exploration. Step by step, I realized that scientific research is not merely a procedure or a tool; it is a path for self-discovery, enabling me to explore the unknown and create new value.”
Naturally, entering the world of scientific research comes with its own challenges. According to Anh Dao, the most significant difficulty did not lie in data analysis but rather in the foundational stage, designing the research framework and developing robust data collection instruments. “How can a theoretical model be not only academically sound but also compatible with complex statistical models during data collection?” she reflected. To ensure the solidity of their model, Anh Dao and her research partner proactively sought guidance from supervisors and experts in the field to review and refine their framework. “We continuously listened, adjusted, and improved our model so that data processing and analysis could later be conducted more smoothly and reliably,” she explained.
Toward the realization of academic value
Research has never been an easy journey, but completing a study and achieving meaningful outcomes remains the greatest source of pride. The ability to transform complexity into clarity, to turn abstract theories and dry numbers into practical, applicable insights, is one of the most valuable aspects of scientific research. Finding clear answers and offering actionable recommendations for organizations and businesses is what gives each research project its true significance.
When facing deadlocks in research - moments of being overwhelmed by data and hypotheses, the most important thing is to remain calm and adopt a systematic mindset to re-examine the problem. Equally important is not hesitating to seek companionship from research partners and guidance from lecturers to overcome difficult phases. Moreover, researchers must learn to accept that even with their best efforts, data may not always support initial hypotheses, or studies may not receive the recognition or awards initially expected. Nevertheless, the core value of scientific research does not lie in prizes, but in uncovering objective truths and generating new knowledge. “The perseverance and critical thinking developed throughout the process are the greatest achievements of all,” Anh Dao reflected on her research journey.
With her outstanding achievements in scientific research, Tran Anh Dao has become one of the exemplary students of 2025 at the University of Economics – The University of Danang, contributing to the affirmation of the University’s strong academic spirit and the increasingly solid research capacity of its students. This persistent journey proves that students of the University of Economics not only learn but also dare to innovate, engage deeply, and gradually assert their pioneering role in academic activities. As 2026 approaches with new opportunities and challenges, it stands ready to welcome bold ideas, breakthrough aspirations, and resilient students prepared to conquer new heights in scientific research.
