INTRODUCTION TO THE DOCTORAL PROGRAM

I. General Introduction to the Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Business Administration 

Since the year 2000, the Faculty of Business Administration has been entrusted by the University of Economics – The University of Danang to offer doctoral training in Industrial Economics. 

By 2010, the Faculty had developed sufficient academic capacity and research capability to launch the Doctoral Program in Business Administration. This marked a significant milestone, positioning the Faculty as one of the pioneering units in Vietnam to provide doctoral-level education in Business Administration. 

To date, numerous doctoral candidates from Vietnam and abroad (including Korea, Laos, and others) have successfully completed their programs and been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration. 

Graduates of the doctoral program are equipped with the ability to conduct independent research, develop new theories, and contribute scientific evidence to the field of business administration. Upon completion, PhD holders in Business Administration and Industrial Economics are competent to serve as: senior researchers, university lecturers, senior consultants, policy analysts and strategists, executives and directors of major enterprises, corporations, and economic groups.

III. Advantages of Pursuing a PhD in Business Administration at DUE 

During their studies, doctoral candidates will complete their dissertation under the supervision of faculty members who possess strong academic credentials and extensive experience in publishing research in reputable journals recognized by the National Professorship Council in relevant fields. 

Doctoral candidates also receive both financial and academic support from the University to facilitate international publication, particularly for English-language articles submitted to high-quality journals indexed in WoS or Scopus. For Vietnamese-language publications, the University provides support for submissions to journals of the University of Economics – The University of Danang and the University of Danang as a whole, specifically: 

- Journal of Economic Studies: A scientific and educational platform for scholars, managers, and policymakers within and beyond the University of Economics – The University of Danang.

Throughout their study period, doctoral candidates have full access to both the traditional library system and the digital library, including international electronic databases. They are also provided with access accounts for macroeconomic, financial, and accounting databases such as FiinPro, scientific literature from Elsevier, and anti-plagiarism tools such as Turnitin. Dedicated workspaces equipped with modern research facilities and supported by university research assistants are also available for all doctoral candidates. 

Graduates of the PhD program in Business Administration may pursue careers as academics or researchers in universities, colleges, and research institutes; or take on roles as senior executives in business organizations, public administrative bodies, or non-profit institutions.
