Cooperation Exchange with Mae Fah Luang University (Thailand)

On July 28, 2026, the University of Economics hosted a meeting with a delegation from Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), Thailand, to discuss and promote collaboration opportunities in education, scientific research, and academic exchange between the two institutions. Representing Mae Fah Luang University was Dr. Athitaya Pathan, Assistant Professor, Program Director at the School of Management. On the University of Economics side, the working session was attended by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, along with representatives from the Office of Science & International Cooperation and the Faculty of Tourism.

During the meeting, Dr. Athitaya Pathan provided an overview of Mae Fah Luang University and its School of Management, which currently has around 4,000 students out of a total university enrollment of nearly 14,000. Both sides shared information about training programs, international development strategies, and research strengths at their respective institutions.

In an open and constructive atmosphere, the two sides discussed various potential areas for cooperation, including: establishing a student exchange program between the two universities in the near future; expanding international internship opportunities for DUE students in tourism, hospitality, and event management; strengthening research collaboration and joint participation in international projects, especially Erasmus+ programs and other research funding sources; and coordinating short-term programs (Summer Program) to enhance academic exchange and cultural experience for students.

In addition, MFU representatives introduced the university’s English-language graduate programs, including the MBA in Logistics, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and a Postdoctoral program with scholarships, creating further academic and professional development opportunities for University of Economics faculty, researchers, and students. On this occasion, Dr. Athitaya Pathan also introduced the OBOT 2026 International Conference, scheduled for December 11–13, 2026, and cordially invited DUE lecturers and researchers to present and participate in academic exchanges at the event.

The meeting concluded successfully, marking a positive start to establishing and developing cooperation between the University of Economics and Mae Fah Luang University. Both parties agreed to continue exchanging information, connecting relevant departments, and gradually implementing specific collaborative activities in the near future, thereby contributing to the internationalization of education and enhancing training and research quality at both institutions.
