Expanding International Cooperation with Thai and Canadian Partners

As part of its strategy to internationalise education and broaden its global partnership network, the University of Economics - University of Danang on July 8, 2026, held working sessions with King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and representatives from the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City. The meetings aimed to promote student exchanges, internships, training, and scientific research programmes.
During the session with KMUTNB, both sides discussed further implementation of the international internship programme for students. KMUTNB representatives expressed their intention to send four to five students to study and intern at DUE for about three months, focusing on strengths in logistics, accounting-finance and digital marketing. The two parties also agreed to continue working with businesses to expand internship sites, enabling students to experience international working environments in Vietnam across enterprises, hotels, and information technology units.

At the meeting with the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, the two sides exchanged views on boosting educational cooperation between DUE and Canadian institutions. Associate Professor Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of DUE, affirmed that welcoming Canadian students for study and exchange at DUE is a key priority within the internationalisation strategy, while emphasising that cooperation will also encompass joint scientific research and academic development beyond student and lecturer exchanges.
Discussion on student exchange cooperation orientation with representatives from the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City
Nguyen Thi Cam Tu, Commercial Attaché for Education at the Canadian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, introduced collaborative training models, joint degree programmes and short-term certificate courses in fintech, and discussed the potential to develop programmes tailored to recruitment needs and trends in the international labour market.
The two sides also shared information on Canadian Government-funded scholarship programmes, offering ASEAN students the opportunity to study and gain experience in Canada for one to two semesters.

Associate Professor Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh said the university will continue to expand cooperation with universities, international organisations, and foreign enterprises to increase learning, internship, and research opportunities for students. Strengthening connections with partners from Thailand and Canada is expected to enhance training quality and develop globally competent human resources to meet the needs of the international labour market.
Both parties exchanged gifts and expressed hopes that their partnership would become increasingly strong and effective, opening up further development opportunities in the future.
