Expand cooperation with Tzu Chi University (Taiwan) to promote student exchange and interdisciplinary research

On May 26, 2026, the University of Danang - University of Economics held a working session with a delegation from Tzu Chi University, Taiwan, to discuss future cooperation in education, research, and the development of international exchange programs for students and faculty.

During the meeting, representatives from Tzu Chi University provided an overview of their training programs, academic strengths, and international cooperation strategies. The Taiwanese institution expressed particular interest in expanding collaboration with the University of Economics through student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and interdisciplinary training activities.

Several potential areas of cooperation were discussed. Tzu Chi University introduced short-term student exchange programs, offering international students scholarships and dormitory support. The university also presented initiatives related to social innovation, entrepreneurship, and skills training aligned with emerging labor market trends.

On the Vietnamese side, Dr. Doan Thi Lien Huong, Head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation at the University of Economics, proposed several specific collaborative activities, such as welcoming international students for academic exchange and study at the university, launching short-term cultural exchange programs, advancing bachelor’s and master’s training cooperation, and facilitating the exchange of academic information and program promotion between the two institutions.

Both universities also discussed the potential implementation of joint international training programs, including a "triple master degree" model involving Taiwan, Germany, and Mexico. Research collaboration was a key focus, with proposals to jointly establish an international financial center and participate in upcoming international academic conferences.

According to the plan, Tzu Chi University is expected to return to the University of Economics - University of Danang in September to continue detailed discussions and promote the signing of a memorandum of understanding. Both parties also agreed to consider organizing specialized workshops and a Summer Camp for students in business and innovation.
