Workshop on “Science, Technology and Innovation Law and the Development of Science and Technology Enterprise Models”

On April 22, 2026, the University of Economics - University of Danang hosted a workshop themed “Science, Technology and Innovation Law and the Development of Science and Technology Enterprise Models,” attracting significant participation from faculty members, scientists, and industry experts.

The event served as an academic and practical forum for lecturers and scientists to exchange views on the commercialization of intellectual property derived from scientific and technological projects. The workshop also explored solutions to promote the development of spin-off enterprise models within higher education institutions.
Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector of the University, stated that the completion of the legal framework for science, technology, and innovation would lay a favorable foundation for universities to boldly implement new models. However, to realize this potential, close coordination among universities, regulatory agencies, and enterprises is required to address barriers related to mechanisms, policies, and implementation resources.

At the workshop, four in-depth presentations were delivered, providing diverse perspectives ranging from legal and managerial frameworks to practical implementation experiences.
The session began with the presentation “Science, Technology and Innovation Law and Legal Framework for Science and Technology Enterprises in Higher Education Institutions,” delivered by Dr. Nguyen Huu Phuc and Dr. Tran Thi Sau from the Faculty of Law, University of Economics - University of Danang. The presentation analyzed the current legal system, clarifying the necessary conditions and mechanisms for establishing and operating science and technology enterprises in universities.

Following this, Dr. Hua Thuy Trang, Director of Corporate Relations, BK Holdings (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), presented on “Commercialization of Intellectual Property as a Result of Scientific and Technological Tasks in Higher Education Institutions.” The talk emphasized current barriers and proposed approaches to enhance the exploitation of intellectual property value in universities.
Dr. Hua Thuy Trang shared insights into the commercialization of intellectual property and the spin-off enterprise model.
From a state management perspective, Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Danang City, delivered a presentation on the dossiers and procedures for establishing science and technology enterprises within higher education institutions, and analyzed specific mechanisms under Resolution 259/2025/QH15 related to local technological development.

Concluding the program, Dr. Hua Thuy Trang continued with a presentation on “Spin-off Enterprise Models in Vietnam and Lessons for Higher Education Institutions in Danang”.
