DUE Affirms Its Reputation in Training High-Quality Human Resources for the Lao PDR

After a period of study and research at the University of Economics - The University of Danang (DUE), 18 trainees from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) have officially completed their master’s degree programs. For the new graduates, their time at DUE was not only a journey of knowledge accumulation but also an experience marked by a rigorous academic environment, the dedication of lecturers, and the close bonds fostered between learners from the two countries.


Throughout their academic journey at DUE, the Lao graduates were particularly impressed by the strong emphasis on practice-oriented training and the wholehearted support of the teaching staff. New Master’s graduate Sivalath Keomanivanh (Economic Management) shared that the programs were systematically designed with a strong focus on applicability, enabling learners to acquire in-depth knowledge aligned with socio-economic development requirements in the context of integration. “Flexible teaching methods that effectively combine theory with practical management experience have equipped us with the readiness to apply what we learned to our work after graduation”, he noted.


Echoing this view, New Master’s graduate Xaythanasy Inthavong (Business Administration), currently working at the Propaganda and Training Department of Salavan Province (Lao PDR), emphasized that the learning environment at the University of Economics exceeded expectations. “The lecturers are highly qualified, approachable, and responsible, always willing to support international students throughout their studies. Academic discussions, patient instruction, and close guidance helped Lao learners quickly adapt and gain confidence in accessing new knowledge”, he said.


Beyond academic quality, the multicultural learning environment at DUE was also highlighted as a memorable experience by the Lao graduates. Through studying and living alongside Vietnamese peers, Lao students gained deeper insights into Vietnamese culture, working styles, a strong sense of responsibility, and professionalism in learning and research. “These experiences helped us develop communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills in a friendly international environment, grounded in the special traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Laos”, Xaythanasy Inthavong added.


The comprehensive care and support provided by the University was another commonly shared impression among Lao learners. From academic organization and research guidance to administrative assistance and cultural exchange activities, the University of Economics - The University of Danang created favorable conditions for international students to study with peace of mind, regarding Viet Nam as a second home during their time at the University. Sivalath Keomanivanh remarked, “What left the deepest impression on me was the lecturers’ strong commitment to knowledge transfer and the sharing of practical experience, along with opportunities for internships and research at enterprises”.

Upon graduation, the Lao Master’s graduates expressed their aspiration to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to their professional practice, contributing to improved management effectiveness and socio-economic development in their localities and in Laos as a whole. Many also indicated their willingness to continue choosing DUE for higher levels of study if given the opportunity, thereby further strengthening sustainable educational cooperation between the two countries.
