Strengthening Cooperation Opportunities with Champasak University (Lao PDR)

On January 23, 2026, the University of Economics - The University of Danang (DUE) welcomed a working delegation from Champasak University (Lao PDR) to discuss cooperation in training orientation, academic programs, and potential collaboration opportunities in the coming period.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice President of the University, provided an overview of DUE’s current training systems, including three modes of education across a wide range of disciplines. She highlighted popular majors such as Marketing and E-commerce, with particular emphasis on international programs, including Accounting integrated with the ICAEW international curriculum and Auditing integrated with the ACCA international curriculum, which are designed to meet global professional standards.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh also shared perspectives on cooperation opportunities between the two institutions.

In addition, the University introduced Da Nang City’s future development orientation, focusing on high-potential sectors such as fintech, the digital economy, and green development. These directions are expected to create abundant opportunities for learning, research, and entrepreneurship for both domestic and international students. Major events of regional and international scale regularly hosted in Da Nang were also presented as a significant advantage for an open, dynamic, and internationally integrated learning environment.

The two sides discussed student exchange programs, with plans to implement two exchange initiatives in the upcoming period. These programs aim to provide students from both universities with opportunities to study, experience different cultures, and engage in international education environments. The University of Economics reaffirmed its strong commitment to promoting cooperation and its readiness to work closely with Champasak University to bring the agreed-upon initiatives into practice.

The delegation from Champasak University expressed strong interest in DUE’s cooperation proposals and voiced expectations that this visit would serve as an important bridge, opening a new phase of collaboration between the two institutions. Both sides emphasized their determination to accelerate cooperation efforts from this point forward.

At the same time, the University of Economics introduced its plans to organize international scientific conferences, notably ICOAF 2026 and COMB 2026, thereby expanding opportunities for academic participation and exchange for international partners, including Champasak University.

The two institutions exchanged commemorative gifts to mark their upcoming cooperation.

Affirming its role as a dynamic educational partner with a proactive approach to international integration, the University of Economics expressed its desire to work alongside Champasak University in developing practical, learner-centered cooperation programs, contributing positively to the development of high-quality human resources for both Viet Nam and Lao PDR in the years ahead.
