02/12/2025

As part of its international academic collaboration and exchange activities, on December 2, 2025, the University of Economics – University of Đà Nẵng (DUE) organized an academic seminar titled “Pedagogy Innovation: Blended Learning and Project-Based Learning”, presented by Professor Alexandre Lopes, Fulbright Specialist, and Associate Chair of Executive Education Programs at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (USA).

The seminar was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Statistics & Informatics, the Faculty of E-Commerce, the Department of Research & International Cooperation, as well as a large number of lecturers, doctoral students, and staff interested in modern trends in teaching methodology innovation.

Professor Alexandre Lopes introduced advanced teaching models widely applied in the United States, particularly Blended Learning (a combination of online and in-person instruction) and Project-Based Learning (learning through real-world projects). These two approaches are highly regarded for enhancing learner autonomy while allowing instructors to optimize interaction time and assess practical competencies more effectively. Prof. Lopes emphasized that pedagogical innovation goes beyond merely applying technology; it lies in designing learning experiences that place the learner at the center, thereby fostering self-directed learning and research skills in line with global trends.

The discussion session featured numerous contributions from lecturers on the application of integrated learning models, the development of digital lectures, and the creation of project-based courses linked to real-world business practices and digital data.

The seminar provided valuable new insights into modern pedagogical models and offered DUE faculty the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge educational thinking, paving the way for building a dynamic, creative, and internationally integrated training environment.
