MB Bank Shares “Secrets” to Impressing Recruiters with DUE Students
24/11/2025
On the 17 November 2025, The University of Economics, University of Da Nang and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB Bank) jointly organised a workshop titled “Secrets to Conquering Recruiters & Introduction to MB Internship Programme 2025”. The event equipped students with essential skills and practical tips to better prepare them for the competitive job market, delivered directly by senior HR experts and banking specialists from MB.
During the workshop, MB representatives provided an insider’s view of current recruitment trends in the banking sector amid rapid digital transformation. The speakers shared valuable “secrets” through two main sessions:
- Session 1: “Writing a CV Using the Job Grading Model”
Students learned how to tailor their CVs to the exact competency level required for each position, avoiding the common mistakes of over- or under-stating their abilities. Participants were trained to think like recruiters: carefully selecting relevant experiences, extracting keywords from job descriptions (tasks – skills – behaviours), and linking them to real achievements. Through analysis of good and poor CV samples, students clearly saw the difference between a CV that merely lists duties and one that effectively demonstrates WHAT was done, HOW it was done, and the RESULT achieved.

- Session 2: “Mastering Behavioural Interview Techniques”
The session introduced the Behavioural Event Interview (BEI) method, encouraging students to prepare authentic stories from their own experiences instead of memorising generic answers. Participants became familiar with MB’s most common behavioural questions and understood exactly which competencies each question assesses. The speaker demonstrated the STAR framework (Situation - Task - Action - Result) with correct and incorrect examples, and shared practical tips for handling tough interview questions through real-life scenarios, significantly boosting students’ confidence.

In addition to skill-building content, MB dedicated substantial time to presenting the MB Fast Track 2025 Programme - the banking sector’s first recruitment-and-training initiative modelled on a Hackathon format. The programme simulates a real “career race,” allowing candidates to step into the role of an MB banker by solving data challenges, providing consultancy, handling situations, and presenting strategies - offering a direct pathway to becoming a full-time specialist at MB.
Students actively interacted with speakers on career orientation, MB’s recruitment criteria, and internship opportunities.
Students showed strong enthusiasm for MB’s young, disciplined, and highly tech-driven working environment - one of Vietnam’s pioneering digital-transformation banks. They raised numerous questions about career paths, promotion timelines, selection standards, and ways to make their applications stand out. MB representatives answered in detail and encouraged students to confidently apply for the bank’s internship and recruitment programmes.
The workshop delivered practical knowledge and helped students feel more confident when entering the job market.
With hands-on insights and an attractive internship programme, the event helped DUE students gain a clearer understanding of banking-sector recruitment expectations and chart a more defined career direction for the future.
Dr Bui Trung Hiep, Acting Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Enterprise Relations and Communications, presented flowers to thank the MB Bank delegation.
