Alongside the presentation, the event introduced the book “From memories to the future” – the latest work by Professor Tran Van Tho, published by Omega Books Vietnam. As one of the most prominent Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan, Professor Tran Van Tho has lived and worked abroad for decades. However, his homeland has never been absent from his thoughts. It is from this deep affection that “From memories to the future” was born. The book is a collection of essays, reflections, and emotive writings that deeply express two lifelong concerns of the author: 1. How can Vietnam escape poverty and become a high-income country? 2. The ideal image of a nation – where people live happily, culturally, and are respected by the world.

From intimate memories of family and friends to reflections on education, culture, and ethics in the national revitalization and development process – each piece embodies the civic responsibility and intellectual integrity of a great scholar. Whether writing about personal matters or public issues, his tone remains gentle, restrained yet profound, simple yet persuasive.

More than just a personal memoir, “From memories to the future” serves as a bridge between past and present, between memory and aspiration. In it, readers encounter a wealth of knowledge, a refined soul, and a heart that never ceases to worry about the nation’s destiny.

Ms. Tran Hoai Phuong – CEO of Omega Books Vietnam – shared thoughts on the formation and value of “From memories to the future”

Parts I and II: Personal tone, containing memories of homeland, family affection, friends, teachers, childhood, music, poetry… highlighting a sensitive and emotional Tran Van Tho.

Parts III and IV: Focused on current issues such as market economy, higher education, public policy, national leadership, political culture, international experience, and the aspiration for national development.
