On Party Committee development, during the 2020 2025 term, the University’s Party Committee led the thorough implementation of the Central Executive Committee’s conclusions and directives at all levels, contributing to building a clean and strong Party Committee, aiming to perfect revolutionary ethics aligned with new conditions and the nation's fine cultural traditions and the University's office culture. The development of new party members was closely guided, from training potential members, nominating outstanding individuals, reviewing applications for admission, and officially recognizing new members. As a result, from 2020 to 2025, nearly 676 outstanding individuals attended the Party awareness classes, 166 new members were admitted, and 202 probationary members were officially recognized.

On governance and personnel quality enhancement, the Party Committee guided the planning and appointment of management positions, consolidating the University's organizational structure per State and UDN regulations. Over 70 appointments and reappointments of leadership staff in faculties, offices, centers, the library, and departments were conducted properly and with high consensus from staff. The recruitment process was implemented publicly, transparently, and ensured the quality of new staff. The training and development of the teaching staff were strongly emphasized, significantly increasing the number of lecturers with doctoral degrees and associate professorships. Currently, the University has 293 teaching staff, of which 137 hold doctoral degrees (45.73%) and 30 are Professors or Associate Professors (10.14%).

On training, in the context of increasingly intense competition in economics and business majors, the Party Committee directed admissions flexibly, leveraging IT and media channels, and organized professional enrollment consultation days, strengthening connections with high schools. Consequently, the University consistently met its enrollment targets over the last five years, with improved student quality each year and a more diverse student body. The current training scale exceeds 15,000 learners across all education levels. During the 2020 – 2025 term, the University made significant progress in developing interdisciplinary, technology-integrated, and internationally connected programs such as FinTech, Digital Economics, Data Science and Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, and the ACCA-integrated Auditing Program. Programs are increasingly offered fully or partially in English. IT applications in training, student, infrastructure, and financial management were further enhanced toward integrated management. Notably, the adoption and expansion of Blended Learning marked a breakthrough in modern teaching approaches.

On scientific research, the Party Committee guided research activities by focusing on both quantity and quality, with increased international publications, national-level research projects, and large-scale international conferences. In this term, the faculty published 300 papers in ISI and Scopus-indexed journals; conducted 7 national-level and 6 ministerial-level research projects; partnered in 3 local collaborative projects; and co-hosted 28 international and 26 national conferences, many of which became signature events highly appreciated by scholars and government bodies. The student scientific research movement has consistently achieved excellent results, with 135 awards, including 1 first prize, 4 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 8 consolation prizes in the Ministry of Education and Training's Young Scientific Talents competition. The student startup and innovation movement also saw notable success, with national-level competitions such as Startup Runway and Startup Wheel held at the University.

On external and international cooperation, despite the impact of COVID-19, under the Party Committee’s leadership, the University maintained and expanded partnerships, signing MOUs and cooperation agreements with 32 reputable international universities for training, conference organization, and faculty/student exchange. The University also participated in various international projects, including PHER, VIBE, Erasmus+, university governance improvement, and the development of a Logistics Services Research Center. Monthly, the University hosts international experts, scholars, and students, with an increasing number of exchange students from countries such as France, New Zealand, Thailand, and Laos.

On testing and quality assurance, the Party Committee led increasingly standardized assessment processes, issuing updated regulations and procedures, especially for online testing and evaluation successfully implemented during COVID-19. Nearly 200 exam question banks have been developed and approved for use. The 2020 – 2025 term marked major achievements in quality assurance and accreditation: the University was recognized for meeting the second-cycle institutional accreditation standards in December 2021. Currently, 100% of programs have undergone accreditation, with 12 programs (66.7%) certified under AUN-QA standards and 6 under MOET's Circular 04 standards.

On finance and infrastructure, the Party Committee closely oversaw compliance and resource efficiency. Financial and asset management was effectively executed, ensuring timely, accurate disbursement of salaries, teaching remuneration, scholarships, and social insurance. Budget planning and monitoring were focused on balancing revenues and expenditures, prioritizing staff development and income, and improving facilities in line with the University's scale and status. The campus has notably transformed, with upgraded and renovated facilities, new equipment investments, modern lecture halls, administrative areas, department offices, meeting rooms, auditoriums, practice rooms, a multipurpose sports arena, and a renovated football field for staff and students. The campus environment is increasingly green, clean, and tidy.

On corporate relations and alumni engagement, the University has continued to maintain and expand its network of partners and former students. During the 2020 – 2025 term, the University signed numerous MOUs and cooperation agreements with businesses, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations. The University has actively invited alumni to participate in school activities, deliver lectures, provide mentorship, and support internships and job placements for students. Many prominent alumni have made meaningful contributions to the development of the University, acting as a bridge between the school and enterprises, and as role models for the younger generation.

On the leadership in building mass organizations, the Party Committee has directed the University Trade Union to organize activities that are both propagandistic and professionally relevant, enhancing the Trade Union’s collaboration with the administration in implementing political missions. In recent times, Trade Union activities have been diverse and rich in content, with improved organizational forms that have attracted a large number of union members to participate. Notably, the Trade Union has successfully fulfilled its role in serving the community, especially through the implementation of a cooperation agreement with the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District in building new rural areas with many effective and practical activities, such as training local officials in economic management knowledge, designing brand identity for local products, supporting policy beneficiary families, and awarding scholarships to underprivileged students, etc. The Party Committee has also led the Youth Union in effectively conducting political and ideological education for students. Every year, the Youth Union organizes numerous emulation movements and meaningful, practical activities to educate and raise student awareness in studying, training, and serving the community, such as the “Five-Good Student” movement, the Summer Volunteer – Green Summer program, local volunteer activities, humanitarian blood donation campaigns, and caring activities for new students and disadvantaged, high-achieving Youth Union members. The University Youth Union and affiliated branch unions also regularly organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities to promote and enhance students’ spiritual life and health while discovering student talents. The Veterans Association has coordinated with the Youth Union to intensify education on politics, ideology, revolutionary tradition, and the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army for Youth Union members and students. The Association organized briefings for students on socio-economic situations, the East Sea situation, and political-ideological orientations from the Party’s perspective. Veteran Association members from the service unit cooperated with functional departments and the self-defense militia force to ensure security and order at the University during holidays, Tet, and major school events.

In his directive speech at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu highly praised the achievements of the Party Committee of the University of Economics during the 2020-2025 term. These accomplishments are significant and have made important contributions to the development of the University of Economics in particular and the University of Danang in general. Building on these achievements, the Party Committee of the University of Danang called on the collective staff and Party members of the University of Economics to continue their unity, bonding, dedication to study, training, and determination to fulfill the targets and tasks for the 2025 – 2030 term. Focus should be placed on researching breakthrough solutions for the University of Economics to progress rapidly and take the lead, truly becoming one of the top three centers for training economic management personnel in the country, and reaching regional and international levels; becoming a reputable policy consulting center for the Central region and the nation. First, focus on Party building, with a key focus on developing a team of leaders and managers with both virtue and talent, with succession capacity to meet sustainable development requirements in the New Era. Second, focus on improving training quality, considered a consistent red thread and a decisive factor for the school’s sustainable development in today’s competitive context. Third, encourage and create conditions for lecturers to participate in scientific research, build a professional researcher workforce, emphasize student research activities, and prioritize resources for scientific research, especially applied research. Fourth, expand international cooperation and strengthen business collaboration in a substantive and effective manner to mobilize additional resources contributing to enhancing training and research quality. Fifth, view learners as the center; the university’s policies must be student-oriented to create a safe and healthy learning and living environment. Sixth, innovate university governance associated with digital transformation towards streamlined, effective, and efficient operations.
