Seminar on Collecting Feedback for the “2024 Annual Economic Assessment Report of Da Nang City”

On the afternoon of January 20, the University of Economics - University of Danang (DUE) organized a seminar to collect feedback on the “2024 Annual Economic Assessment Report of Da Nang City” with the theme: “Da Nang City – Enhancing Competitiveness for Sustainable Development.”

Aiming to provide a scientific and in-depth theoretical foundation for the city's future economic development, DUE initiated the development of the 2024 Annual Report under the theme “Da Nang City – Enhancing Competitiveness for Sustainable Development.” After more than four months of implementation, the report has been completed, offering proposals and policy implications to improve macroeconomic competitiveness, identify key capabilities for development, and strengthen the competitive position of Da Nang - a city known for its livability.

The seminar highlighted three main pillars in assessing the city's competitiveness: economic position, resources, and institutions & enterprises. Experts focused on discussing and proposing solutions for key areas such as urban development, technology, human resources, logistics, and finance & banking, with the goal of transforming Da Nang into a world-class city and an international financial hub.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of the University of Economics - University of Danang, expressed confidence that: "With the enthusiastic participation and insightful contributions of the delegates, today’s seminar will be a great success, bringing scientific and practical values. It will serve as the voice of the University of Economics in policy consultation for Da Nang and the region".

Following the presentation, delegates engaged in extensive discussions, contributing valuable insights to refine the report and propose effective development strategies for Da Nang in the future.

Concluding the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh expressed hope that with the contributions from the delegates, the annual report will continue to improve in quality, not only accurately reflecting past achievements but also serving as a valuable resource for management, planning, and strategic development.

Additionally, the seminar provided a deeper perspective on Da Nang’s key economic sectors, including trade, tourism, and high-priority industries. The assessments were made by comparing Da Nang with other centrally governed cities and provinces in the Central Key Economic Region. As a result, policy recommendations and strategic action plans were formulated and submitted to policymakers, relevant departments, and the People's Committee of Da Nang.
