Experiencing the Hospitality Management Programme
Extracurricular Activities
Course-related Extracurricular Activities
To enhance students’ professional exposure within the program, a wide range of course-related extracurricular activities has been designed. Many courses in the Hospitality Management training program include field visits combined with surveys of accommodation establishments and tourism destinations.
In addition, students majoring in Hospitality Management are required to participate in at least one tourism career-orientation activity organized by a Marriott Group hotel, with official confirmation.
Furthermore, Hotel Management students are required to either participate in a field trip with their class lasting at least 3 days and 2 nights, or experience one overnight stay at a five-star hotel (all related expenses are to be covered by the students).
Many Courses Are Delivered at Marriott-Standard Hotels
Students enrolled in the Marriott-standard joint training program in Hospitality Management gain early professional exposure (starting from the summer semester of the first year) through courses conducted directly at partner hotels. These courses include Front Office Operations, Restaurant Operations, Housekeeping Operations, Hotel Software Applications, Team Leadership in Tourism and Hospitality Enterprises, Professional Practicum, and Graduation Internship.
Other Extracurricular Activities
To further develop students’ soft skills and sense of community responsibility, the Hospitality Management program also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities aligned with the program’s learning outcomes. These activities include career orientation programs organized by the University of Economics and the Da Nang Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, humanitarian blood donation drives, winter and summer volunteer campaigns, soft skills training workshops, sports activities, and activities organized by the Tourism Club and many other student clubs within the University.
Students are required to accumulate a minimum of 60 extracurricular activity points in order to be eligible for graduation.
