  • Study Pathway of the Tourism Management Programme

    The Tourism and Travel Management programme is designed with a standard duration of four years. However, depending on individual capacity and personal circumstances, students may flexibly implement their study plans within a timeframe of 3.5 to 6 years, following the logical sequence of courses as presented in Table 4 (for the Tourism Management specialisation) and Table 5 (for the Event Management specialisation).

    Notes:

    *(1) Professional Internship for the Tourism Management Specialisation:
    Students may choose one of the following internship options:

    • Undertake professional training in Front Office, Food and Beverage Service, or Housekeeping at a hotel rated three stars or above for a minimum duration of 360 hours during the summer of the second academic year; or
    • Undertake professional training in Travel Operations or Tour Guiding Services at a tourism company for a minimum duration of 360 hours during the summer of the third academic year.

    *(2) Professional Internship for the Event Management Specialisation:
    Students are required to undertake professional training in event coordination and operations at an event management company, or within the event organisation department of a hotel, or within the event department of a tourism enterprise for a minimum duration of 360 hours during the summer of the third academic year. During this internship period, students must participate in the coordination of at least two events.

    *(3) Graduation Thesis Requirement:
    Students who wish to undertake a graduation thesis must:

    • Achieve a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) meeting the prescribed requirement for thesis eligibility;
    • Successfully complete the course Research Methodology; and
    • Be ranked within the top 10% of eligible students, determined in descending order based on cumulative GPA, provided that both conditions above are satisfied.
