Speaker presentations

Science, technology, and innovation have been identified by the Party and Government as strategic breakthroughs and key tools for achieving sustainable development goals. The 13th Party Congress clearly stated: "Promote national digital transformation and develop the digital economy based on science, technology, and innovation." The 2021-2030 socio-economic development strategy, adopted at the 13th Party Congress, also emphasized: "Strongly develop science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main drivers for economic growth."

To enable developing countries like Vietnam to advance science, technology, and innovation in line with sustainable development goals, it is essential to analyze and assess the capacity for science, technology, and innovation, as well as the entire ecosystem that supports it. In this context, policies and state management models play a crucial role.

Delegates exchanged and discussed ideas

For businesses to become the center of an innovation ecosystem, they must not only benefit from adopting and mastering new technologies but also actively promote technological innovation, develop new technologies, and expand the technological frontier to achieve breakthroughs in productivity, quality, efficiency, and strength for fast and sustainable socio-economic development. In this ecosystem, the state acts as a "midwife," providing essential support for the development of science, technology, and innovation. Therefore, the state management model for science, technology, and innovation during the 2021-2030 period needs to be updated and further developed.

Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, concluded the conference

In conclusion, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, noted: "During the morning session, after hearing four presentations, the delegates and scientists discussed and clarified key issues regarding the role and relationship between science, technology, and innovation in sustainable development at the national, regional, organizational, and enterprise levels in the context of the fourth industrial revolution. They analyzed the current situation and the requirements for managing science, technology, and innovation to promote the transition to a sustainable growth model through science, technology, and innovation in Vietnam. At the same time, they proposed policy solutions that the state and local authorities should adopt to enable a breakthrough in Vietnam's development."
