DUE’S Women Of Distinction: Every Woman Has Her Own Way to Shine
19/10/2026

Colleagues and students at the University of Economics, The University of Danang, often remember Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh as an energetic, approachable woman who is deeply committed to her colleagues and the university community. Over more than 30 years at the university, from her early involvement in the Youth Union and student movements to taking on a range of leadership roles, she has maintained the same enthusiasm and dedication to her work.
As Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University’s Trade Union, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh has worked tirelessly in management and administration while remaining attentive to the needs of colleagues and students, fostering a strong sense of connection within the community. For her, regardless of the position she holds, dedication to work and genuine care for the collective have remained constant throughout her career.
She finds joy in the simple things: a successfully organised event, a team achieving its shared goals, or students growing through their participation in university activities. These outcomes reflect not only individual effort but also the value of collaboration and solidarity. Accordingly, her leadership approach places equal emphasis on working alongside others, listening to their concerns and sharing their experiences.
As a woman, she understands that women often have to balance multiple roles at once. Beyond their professional responsibilities, they also shoulder family commitments and the many unseen duties that come with them. Rather than viewing these demands as barriers, she sees them as motivation to strive for greater achievements each day. She believes a woman’s worth is not defined by her title or position, but by her capabilities, sense of responsibility and dedication to everything she does.
What colleagues and students value most about Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh is not only her leadership ability, but also the way she builds connections through her presence, empathy and concrete actions. To her, leadership is not simply about assigning tasks or managing operations. It also means getting involved, listening to others and working together to overcome challenges in pursuit of common goals. During periods of intense work pressure, the happiness of her colleagues, the solidarity of trade union members and the enthusiasm of students continue to inspire her commitment to the university.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20, she extends her best wishes to all women at DUE. She hopes they will believe in their own worth, continue striving for excellence and find their own ways to flourish - whether through major achievements or the simple acts of dedication that shape everyday life - helping build an increasingly positive and supportive university community.
