To mark Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13, the University of Danang - University of Economics continues to spotlight alumni who are creating positive value in the business community through its series, “DUE’s Mark on the Entrepreneurial Journey”. In the second instalment, the story of Cao Tri Dung highlights a key dimension of the entrepreneurial journey: knowledge provides the foundation, but practical experience, adaptability and a strong sense of responsibility are what turn knowledge into value.
Cao Tri Dung, an alumnus of the 90K cohort who majored in Business Administration, currently serves as Chairman of the Vietnam Travel Association, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Travelmart.
According to Dung, a major turning point in professional development lies not merely in earning a degree, but in stepping outside one’s comfort zone, embracing real-world challenges, being willing to confront mistakes and taking responsibility for one’s choices. For him, the mindset shaped at DUE has provided a firm foundation for navigating market volatility and continuously adapting to practical demands.
Addressing DUE students, Dung emphasised: “A DUE degree is an excellent launchpad, but adaptability and emotional intelligence are the engines that will take you further. Do not wait until everything is perfect to get started, and do not be afraid of failure. See every setback as a valuable life experience. Move forward with confidence, because you already possess the most valuable assets: youth and knowledge”.
